I have never noticed COMC use remarketing. Maybe I just missed it, but it seems like an inexpensive advertising tool. Has anyone else seen it?

Based on the search I've been using to identify cards with [Missing] in the description, since early January I've managed to work down from over 15360 cards (ignoring Sold Out) to just under 9000 cards.

Of the Sold Out cards, I've managed to go from somewhere north of 11650 to 9138 cards in the last couple of weeks.

Naturally, Non-Sports still makes up most of those numbers. Racing and Football make up most of the remaining [Missing] cards. Football has a ton of those "action photo" type sets from Topps and Fleer that are just annoying to identify. And I don't really care about Racing, so I don't put much time into those if they are the least bit complicated.

COMC must have won back the minds of the users because I have not had my usual traffic of requests to buy ports. My sales have also been very strong despite my focus on baseball which is in it's off peak.

I guess this is good news

I agree. January has been one of my best months in years.

Thought Id bump this back up as I love all the discussion it has created.

I am beginning to transition my selling strategy from flipping ports to selling cards I submit and flipping individual cards; sales have been better than expected on my new account Carlton32 and I plan to re-invest money made to continually build up my port.

I have noticed that prices on higher end cards are becoming more and more realistic (relative to ebay sales) and this has caused me to spend more credit on cards (as opposed to cashing out)

I'm still un-impressed with their processing. I have a batch due on 2/18 that has approx 247 remaining.

At this point I'm mostly sending in junk that isn't selling at my weekly show. It doesn't make sense for me to send in stuff to COMC that I could potentially sell at the show vs waiting 2 months for it to pop on COMC. I've also been putting more stuff on eBay with good success.

not sure how long you have been around, but it used to be you had to wait for the entire batch to get done before they would post up the cards. They will probably also go to the end on what you have left with a few cards hitting and and there. You can pay extra for faster service, but then again if it's low end stuff it probably isn't worth the 0.50 or $1+ to list. It's the 4th so you still have 14 days until they are "late"

in 2 years you have $5,500 in inventory and generate $550 in raw sales. Cash that out in 3 months or call it $1,500 x 20% cash out and take $1,200 with over $4,000 of inventory still on site. 20% doesn't really seem relevant

I've been selling on COMC for years now. They've been talking a lot about faster processing times. I'm just not seeing that. The only reason I sent in a batch was because I heard the processing times have improved. This batch did not meet my expectations. Oh and lets not even talk about how many 'damaged' I got back from this batch....

Good news is that cards are moving. Of course lots of low-ball offers from the usuals.

This is a nice high level example.

The most simplistic way is buying 1-2 high end cards and flipping them of course like others have mentioned.

One of my favorite moves on COMC is:

Offer $7-8 on a $9-$10 card. Buyer counters 0.25-0.50 cheaper than asking. I decline and he reslists the card to $12-15.

This never gets old!

But then the card sits there for months, lingering, at the higher price...and the joke's on you, lol

I'm in the same boat, I have not been seeing these great Improvements of completion. For example I have a batch in right now received 1/20/16 and not a single card has been done (3 weeks this Wednesday)--now I understand how it used to be when all of them dropped at the 4 week deadline

I just want to point out that you are not the only one. We were told that by Doubling the time we would see faster results and for me that has not been the case. I send in about 750 cards in a batch and the latest results have been about 250 drop before the 8 week deadline, then the rest the day before the deadline. So is that better than all 750 in 4 weeks?
I don't know, open for debate I guess

also I'm guessing the last one will include a "Mystery" amount of damaged cards. I'll leave it at that

Tried to do some stocking up on baseball prospects and breakout candidates tonight

I think I bought thru the offseason very strongly

Lately I've been adding a lot of $5-$25 cards as I'm seeing increased movement in that price range

I guess my next move will be to stockpile credit and wait for Spring Cleaning Sales

I have some solid submissions that should be going live over the next month, and I'll keep buying and flipping

How was everyone else's baseball off season?
How have mid level sales been?

Also, the grading option remains painfully slow, wish that could be improved

New goal is $125,000 in asking price instead of 100,000 cards. I couldn't keep my numbers over 40,000 without junk. Trying really hard to have a junk free port

How painfully slow are you talking on the grading process. Been thinking about trying it out.

Well, it sort of makes sense. They wait until they can put together a monthly bulk sub to save on shipping costs to/from Texas and get the cheapest rate to submit a card. So the price is reasonable rather than you paying for expedited grading plus shipping two ways. I'd rather pay $12/card or so and wait two months than pay $50 for them to send mine individually and get it back in a month.
If you want it expedited, get it delivered to yourself and then send it in...

This plan does not work as I use it for vintage and the protection of it never leaving their facility

If there is an alteration or problem I can return the item to the seller

Not just baseball. Basketball seems to be selling better in that range too.

Increased clientele?
Better/more accurate listing prices?

Either way i'm happy about it. I'll only use ebay or the forums for high end now.

To update these numbers, after having tweaked the search a bit more to eliminate more results that simply have the word "missing" in them, but actually do have descriptions, as of 10 Feb 2016:

Ignoring Sold Out: 7,052 total cards missing descriptions

Only Sold Out: 7,678 total cards missing descriptions

The true numbers are actually a little less as there are still cards I need to filter out of my search. But that is a good indicator of the progress we're making. I've got another 200+ corrections still pending today. I don't know what to do about a lot of these non-sports cards that don't have clear descriptions or titles.

Does anyone know of an identification chart for the 2004-05 Bazooka Tattoos [basketball]? I've seen something for the baseball set, but nothing for basketball.

Just had my 1st declined cards under the new scan then reject system.

Would be a huge benefit if they allowed you to pay another quarter to upgrade to select with a condition note

I'm not planning to speak to anyone there for awhile so if anyone wants to bring that up on my behalf it seems like a no brainer

Well, I just had 25 cards get processed but the interesting part is they added condition notes to 3 of them but I was only charged the 25 cents. I would add that the cards would still be near-Mint to mint. one of the notes was "surface impression upper center" um, OK

but overall I am OK with the conditions notes if it helps sell cards
