Speaking of RC’s, I’d also venture to say a Topps now lowish PR Rc of Soto’s should fetch more than some parallels. They won’t ever probably but, PR is PR .

A player hitting about as well as Austin Wells who hits behind Judge. The point was made because Witt fans were trying to use the Witt has scored more runs than Judge as a strength for his MVP case over Judge. My argument was, you don't control how many runs you score outside of hitting home runs. And with Soto having more, this argument for Witt with this stat becomes diminished anyway and reduces him to leading only 3 things verse 4 in MLB.

Well witt plays def at ss. Witt is hardly having a bad year and if you recall how to use war which nobody does, .2 difference in fwar is meaningless.

Yea I mean I think the MVP for regular season is made for players on “24’ royals like” teams. Maybe middle of the road squads.

Judge is doing ridiculous stuff, that said with the franchise and talent I’d think they are expected to make playoffs- point in hand, win those series MVP’s and when you take a runner up reg MVP then that by de facto makes you king dingaling and everyone knows you could have received the MVP nod as well as series MVP’s…whew hope that makes sense .

Well, there are absolutely factors that would contribute. Soto is a god, but statistically, he is more likely to score a run than Witt due to Judge's presence. Further, Witt is probably x% more likely to reach third base after a single due to his speed (sbs and going first to third more often), which will factor into his runs scored, so he does have some control, just not a huge difference. Probably accounts for 10 more runs on the bases than Judge would off top of head (I'm sure someone can actually analyze it)

Offensively, Judge leads in 11 categories compared to Witts 3. Defensively, Judge has played all 3 outfield positions to Witt's SS. Judge has 0 errors to Witt's 13. Judge has 202 put outs to Witts 151. Judge fielding percentage 1.000 to Witts .971. What am I missing defensively other than shortstop is a more demanding position?

Yeah Juan isn't that far behind on fwar. Gunnar seems to have fallen off a bit, but the top 4 players in mlb are all in AL. What's crazy is both Judge and Witt are looking at 10+ war seasons and Soto a 9+ season. Not sure last time two teammates were both 9+ fwar, might have been ruth and gherig
