I have noticed that a lot of the cards are off top to bottom in this set.

My order marked as "received" on 11/7 just entered "scheduled for grading" today 11/23. They are consistent on their turnaround times and keeping all orders on task. CSG is my #1 grading company right now and it is not close for #2. SGC slabs aren't as nice and costs are too high. PSA's turnaround times are very inconsistent from what I have read, with orders going quickly and others just sitting. PSA/BGS customer service seems to be non-existent and good luck trying to find someone there that gives a #@$!#%@.

Is it ok to send card in a penny sleeve and top loader?

I know they said they do not prefer it but I do not care for Card Savers.

You can ship however you want. The following is the disclaimer from CSG.

Disclaimer: Instructions from CSG on how to package sports cards are only suggestions. Customer alone is responsible for safely and securely packaging the cards, and should, in Customer’s sole discretion, determine how to package the cards to prevent damage during CSG’s normal handling process.

I recommend using Card Savers because they are recommended by every company for the best shipping option and the workers know how to deal with card savers. Using top loaders may seem safer, but workers taking them out of the top loaders will lead to a higher possibility of damage.

Card Savers are cheap now and the best option to send cards.

Toploaders are fine. Just use those little post it tabs to create a pull tab for removing the card.

My recent bulk was received on 11/9 and is still marked as "received". Don't think they're gonna hit that 20 day turnaround time.

Did your order ever go to "Scheduled for grading" at any point? Alot of times it will go from "Scheduled for grading" back to "Received", on the CSG forums they explain it like this.

"This happens ANY time after a submission has been received and one or more cards that were received and verified were not yet in our system already. This means the card needs to be created in the system by our graders. Rest assured this submission has not gone backward in the process. It is still going through its normal process. Please note this status will not change until after the submission has been graded."

Mine was marked as received on 11/7 and is "scheduled for grading." They only charged my credit card on Monday, which is way behind their usual charge your credit card ASAP!

They still have about a week to hit the 20 days for me. It is working days and Thursday was a holiday last week. Right now I am at day 16 and you are at day 14.

I know you both use CSG AND like them, as do I. I have mostly PC stuff. How has your ROI been?

I have been too lazy to list or trade many of my duplicates from CSG. I am in the positive with over 90% of the cards I have graded, but I am keeping the majority of my CSG slabs. I am selling off my PSA slabs though when I get a nicer card in a CSG slab. For instance, I had a PSA 8 Jordan that I sold, and I bought a much nicer raw one off of COMC for half the price and it graded a CSG 9. That is mainly what I am doing these days. Getting rid of my PSA slabs slowly as I upgrade with better CSG versions.

My 11/7 bulk 42 card received order just moved to Grading/Encapsulation/Imaging today. Right on track for the 20-working day turnaround time.

My 30 card bulk has shipped. from 11/6

some odd grades on some, but most matched what I thought or within .5

A few that I thought would be worse did better and some that I didnt see anything wrong did really bad. Harder to make sense of some of the cards of this order.

I wouldnt say its a trend tho... One card i threw in that i cracked from a previous order got the exact same grade (8) so thats consistent.

Have you graded with CSG before? Each grading company has its own grading standards and what they feel is more important. CSG is aligned with Beckett standards, because that is where their lead graders came from. A priority is placed on centering and surface. PSA prioritizes corner and is more relaxed on centering. It is hard for me to get the PSA standards out of my head when I pre-grade cards, because that is what I trained myself to do. Focusing on corners and card looking "pack fresh" is what PSA graders love. CSG is always strange in the fact that pre-1980 cards are graded differently than 1980 and over cards. The vintage graders were trained by BVG standards, so sometimes you will get an inflated grade with vintage CSG.

I just got my 30 card order from CSG and the grading was mine was far more consistent than anywhere else I've submitted. No head scratchers. A few I wanted a little higher (.5) but many more I thought would be a little lower (.5). Overall, very satisfied. (I submitted almost all tobacco cards/pre-war vintage stuff)

Usually every order I submit has at least one where I go WTF. My last order somewhere else I had a 1947 Tip Top I thought would get a 5 or higher and it came back a 2 entirely because of a printing error. There was none of that here.

I grade with CSG a lot more than any other Company. I know for a fact there are some grades in mine that are off, and while many may say that for bias or other reasons heck i mean some 10s that should not be 10s.

I'm still a CSG fan tho and realize that all Companies have that issue too as there are many PSA 9s that are better than PSA 10s.

I just saw some weird shifts on some overgraded and some undergraded compared to my past orders but overall most were correct.

And maybe its just me but I also wonder if overall orders have an overall grade and if that is tracked anywhere internally so they know if graders are doing far too low or far too high. ( i bet some companies do this behind the scenes) Which I kinda doubt someone could submit 15 cards and all get 10s even if they all were truly all 10s in real life. I just dont think any grading company would send out 15 10s in that instance... human element to it. something is a getting a 9 or 9.5... im sure its happened before in the mass that has been graded but its rare .... like imagine a 50 bulk and all 10s.

to which is why we crack and resubmit

Moving quickly! I am at quality control/finalized right now. Probably will get shipping update tomorrow.

Sorry if this has been answered thousands of times but what is a service unavailable all about?
Sent in Masters Champions Tiger Woods 1997 card and it came back service unavailable though the card was pre populated when I went to enter it upon submission.

Might be worth asking them especially if you can see they have graded them before.

Is this a regular size card? Otherwise maybe due to case size or low on stock of a particular size case and didnt want to hold up your entire order.

They don't have slabs for that card. It is pre-populated, but the card is not in the pop report. The card measures 2 1/2" by 4 3/4". From CSG's grades they grade, they state the following.

"CSG currently grades cards that measure 2-5/8" x 3-3/4" or less."
