I just got this in! This is one of my favorite Juan Soto photos on a card. I’ve always wanted the rare rainbow foil parallel of this. I finally got one via auction!

Nice Reggie! Those Rainbow Foils are pretty in person.

Haha! I went all in on this one. I was really surprised I won it for the price it sold because my max bid was much higher.

With the whole world watching the Dodgers and both Ohtani and Betts going berserk, it's going to be diffucult for Soto to compete for MVPs with that. I'd expect a slow mythodical downturn over the next couple years unless he does something on pace to be historic.

The NL MVP is either Ohtani, a different Dodger, or Elly. To really get it Soto needs to hit .300 and get over 40HR.

I’m probably a zillion pages too late but has swapping teams so many times affected his cards that much? They seem very affordable for his age and production compared to peers.

The lack of loyalty and surplus of greed hasn’t really helped his case. A few months ago I read the results of a poll and Soto was named top 5 of most hated players in baseball. If only his character was better and people could only focus on his batting rather than getting annoyed with his plate shenanigans and his weak fielding, things im sure would be different.

Once Ohtani starts pitching it’s his title to lose, honestly I don’t see Elly as a real candidate for MVP, Betts and Tucker look like the best competitors as of now.

Does he really show lack of loyalty though? He was traded to the Padres. He was traded to the Yankees. He only chose a different team one time

Elly was 6 WAR last year, if he takes another step he will be right in the mix. It was only a couple of years ago when Harper won his second mvp in like a three way 6War tie.

I’ve had to remind myself not to feed the trolls and card bozos. There seems to be more and more every time I make time to catch up on BO.

I was a big fan during his first few seasons. Then he became annoying with his antics and overblown adoration ... now as a Met, I find him intolerable.

Mets players do not get hobby love lol

Got this card today and was confused with it. The card is about batting average leaders but Soto was not in the top 10 and not listed on the card back. He hit .275 so not really a good average to be represented with a card. Odd choice is all.

If I was still collecting SC rainbow foils I’d have bid $200

Awesome card, Reggie!

He went for the biggest bag he could, but in the process caused 3 fanbases to sour on him by either passing on extensions or signing elsewhere etc. That's his right, and good for him cause he got hundreds of millions more than if he stayed in Washington, but I think it does dampen how many people will really want to collect him.

Juan Soto is one of my PC players. He is one of the best players in the game. Best case scenario he gets to 3000 hits and 500 HR and is HOF guy. Eventually I think he will end up like Miguel Cabrera hobby wise. He is just going to be over shadowed by guys like Ohtani and Judge right now. And later in his career when he is a DH he will be overshadowed by younger players that are two way all stars (Bobby Witt and Gunnar Henderson types). Hobby wise I don't see a ton of potential unfortunately.
