Nobody I know has had measles this year, just flu and covid. But I don't think the majority of people are getting tested when they are sick these days so it's only a guess. I assume Mookie is vaccinated for measles.

I was just referencing someone talking about viruses at school and saying no one was talking about it.

I’m glad no one you know personally is sick. And yes, I highly doubt Mookie has measles.

Well, everyone in my household, everyone I work with and some other people I know have been sick in the past month. It's lasted 10-14 days for some of us but it wasn't measles but I know that's been in the news because a couple of people have died recently. But the old fashion flu seems to be a little rougher this year. And whatever Abreu had kept him out for a month.

Mookie is going to be on my fantasy team this year, so I hope he’s okay.

Apparently Mookie still can't eat anything without throwing up. I've heard he's down anywhere from 15-20 lbs from different reports. Seems like he'll probably miss a couple more weeks at least

Happened to my friend and they found out he had stomach cancer. Hope this isn't the case obviously with Mookie.

Why make these comments when the diagnosis is unknown? Bad enough he is suffering…

Maybe I don’t understand people or the what these boards find acceptable

These comments had very little to do with Mookie Betts which makes perfect sense in a Mookie Betts thread.

What? We know he’s sick, but don’t know what is causing it. It was posted in a thread about him - and you all called him weak and said he needed to toughen up.

What am I missing?

That's where my head went as well after hearing the news yesterday . But my brain is an evil bastard who likes to catastrophize, so I'm sure it's not that serious.

I wonder how much of it could be psychological at this point. Like if you've been throwing up for like 2 weeks straight that's got to mess with you and cause anxiety anytime to do try to eat.

Seems like Mookie may have turned the corner and is feeling better. That’s great news no matter who you root for.

That's good to hear. He needs to be healthy this year.

Me too, listening to an interview on MLB network. I would assume/hope that team doctors did a specific test for that. So that calmed my fears a bit.

10000% Mookie seems like a good dude and baseball is better when the stars are playing and healthy.

Get use to it. It's the way people are on this board.

Very little empathy. But plenty of sarcastic comments.

Hope he recovers quickly and fully. He is good for the game.

Went through a situation myself where I lost about 45 pounds in 4 months. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't even consume 2000 calories. The weight loss was alarming to say the least and my doctor basically blew it off. Turned out it was likely related to gut issues caused by antibiotics and probiotics being nearly non-existent. Once I figured that out on my own, I was able to start eating normally again and put most of the weight back on. Definitely wasn't a fun time to go through due to the lack of answers.

Hopefully crisis averted ....

Mookie Betts doing drills at shortstop. Target for him tonight is three at-bats and 4-5 innings on defense, per Dodgers manager Dave Roberts.
