I’ve lurked around this forum for a while and absolutely enjoy some of the insight and humor that some posters provide here. I reached the conclusion this thread and TC’s epic turd would be an excellent and memorable place to make my first post. So thankful I practiced patience and wisdom and didn’t pull the trigger on buying TC boxes after coming very close several times prior to seeing actual results. I’m convinced Topps must be a government run company. Who else besides the government can be so awful and inept at their jobs and still be employed?

I think I watched 20 jumbos and 10 hobby boxes get ripped yesterday. What a terrifying, corn filled turd, of a dumpster fire filled with turds, and topped with one single, but majestic turd. I love Topps Chrome. This sucks. Oh well. Off to buy another 2022 Bowman hobby.

I’m so relieved to hear that our warnings do not fall upon only deaf ears.

The only salty ones here are those who thought they got a steal by buying a topps product early presale, for the fear of missing out.

Great lesson learned by many on this release.

Another example of deletion by topps was them forgetting to put in 2014 chrome auto refractors of Kris Bryant for their 2014 bowman release.

They tried to make it up by giving them out as 2014 topps finest mystery redemptions, which is also shady because they never had to produce the mystery finest card.

People were pissed, but they got away with it as well.

It's pretty clear Topps deliberately withheld Jrod and Witt base cards to save them for Update. Update was reserved for in-season breakout rookies. Topps had banked on Wander carrying this release -- he's on the cover of the boxes, after all.

But with Wander struggling and being hurt for most of the season, demand sagged for this product. Topps possibly delayed release, hoping Wander would return from the IL and performed well, boosting demand.

But it didn't happen. So, Topps used a dirty little trick and added Jrod and Witt to the checklist, hoping to gin up demand.

Now Brios is frantically trying to offload his cases.

While we're on the topic of missing cards, the cavin biggio heritage base didn't make it in 2021 heritage but they ended up putting it in heritage. People complained for av few days and went away. Pretty sure that's how this will turn out.

Thanks Hermano! Enjoy your posts! I feel like this nightmare was a long time coming. After seeing how they dropped the ball on ‘22 Series 2 a few months ago coupled with the other surrounding issues and the state of the economy (financial sector guy here) my concern increased greatly for TC. I was looking forward to Heritage High this winter but after Series 2 ans TC I’m really wondering how badly they’ll screw up the rookies in that too. Shame with all of the potential RCs we have this year. Yeah, I’m 45 so I’ve been collecting baseball cards since ‘82. My thing is to collect rookies of every year until I die. Then I can have great memories looking at the cards and when my daughter or grand kids ask me about “X” player I’ll be able to show them cards and tell them stories. Once I’m gone, they can keep collecting and have my cards or sell them and use the profits for whatever. Only difference between when I was a child and today I have larger allowance lol.

IIRC Kris Bryant 13 BDPP (first) autos were unexpectedly not packed out, then ultimately base was put in regular 14 Bowman and refractors/color in 14 BC. So it would not be unprecedented for the 22 TC extended RC to show up in a future product.

Difference is these cards are what literally drove product demand. This is like panini forgetting to put in Lance, Fields, and TLaw, but leaving in Mac Jones and David Mills.
