This statement is too generic to carry meaning here and is not necessarily true. It’s an excuse for bad behavior, if anything.

Honest people wouldn’t invest in cards if they knew it to be corrupt.

The more the scandal is revealed and the truth about grading and the corrupt people in the hobby exposed, the fewer honest hobbyists there will be.

Perhaps this is why so many in this forum scoff when asked why there are so few children in the hobby...they know how corrupt it is.

I was trying to find the origins of this thread, and it appears this one question by kyaa in the Steven Tormollan thread launched this whole thing:

We have done our best as a group, to "Clean up" Leaf and all of their previously known and recently discovered improprieties but still need to focus on Beckett.

Leaf who's been shown to be completely untrustworthy, still has the desire to correct their mistakes.

Think about that for a second. In a battle of ethics, you (Beckett) are losing to Leaf.

Did people actually buy leaf garbage before all of this?

I've bought a few singles of their autographed cards, I got in 1 case break here on BO of their 2015 Heroes of Sport (the one during the NSCC where there were promo cards that were added to the break) - and bought several other slots in the break after the random, and I bought some heavily discounted Black Friday boxes of their original products (Pete Rose set, with an auto per blaster, and 2013 Perfect Game Showcase, with an auto per pack) from BO.

I might do a group break spot again on a future original content product. I'd definitely buy original product singles again, and would buy more original content product from them if the price was right.

Repack stuff? No. Just no.

Yes, some of the best ROI in breaking comes from Leaf products.

I'd rather put my balls into a blender than buy a Leaf product.

Never have never will.
Same goes for grading cards.
Not downing on those that do. Whatever trips your trigger.
These posts have only backed my suspicions which I've held for years and years.

Lmao but you literally have to sell it before leaf devalues the card themselves by releasing the same exact card but with a better version or before anyone else releases the same players cards when it comes to rookies. And don’t forget the rare case leaf decides to sell the card direct devaluing and pack pulled versions.

To be honest the Leaf Metal Draft State Pride sets are one of my favorite sets to complete every year.

i.e. https://www.blowoutforums.com/showthread.php?t=1284003

But Ill be blunt seeing all this has highly questioned me continuing to collect these sets or even buy Leaf cards anymore. This is always the first good product of the new college football draft picks. But ya like I said I'm even thinking about selling them all as what Leaf is doing really takes away the connection I have with the cards.

If that last part makes sense.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH and the Sidney Jones complete rainbow that's ALL graded, that was a personal submission I did through Jewcer here after I got them all raw. I bet if I got them in other ways they would all be 9.5, 10s, and Black Labels lol

Doesn't Leaf have a big release tomorrow? Are people still going to buy that?

I think it's called "Leaf Ultimate Sports".

LEAF have (or maybe "had" at this point) a triple autograph card of Ichiro, Hideki Matsui, Shohei Ohtani in that product, and they used Kaz Matsui's picture instead of Hideki.
They were advertising the card on Twitter.
I pointed out the mistake (asked "is that really Hideki Matsui? Looks more like Kaz Matsui" because I still wasn't 100% sure), and the tweet was deleted without even LEAF replying to me.
Such a shame to waste the card with a wrong image like that.
I wonder if that card still got packaged into the product.

It actually makes me angry and sick to my stomach that people will continue to buy anything associated with BG and Leaf if they are familiar with this thread or his past. It's not a stretch to say if you buy their product you are directly contributing to making the hobby worse for everyone else.

I wish I kept screenshot of their original tweet with image of the card, but I didn't.
My reply to them remained though, so here it is.
Not that it relates with this whole alleged grading scam issue, but after seeing the card and them just deleting the tweet instead of replying and explaining the situation to me, Leaf's credibility went further down inside of me.

Maybe BG found someone to magically conserve the card and replace Kaz with Hideki.
