As long as the extra stuff doesn't take away from actual performance (player and team), have at it...and respect the game that is affording them a lot of nice toys to play with.

I'm noticing the jersey number on a chain is catching on in football too so Ronald isn't the only one anymore even if people think it's too big. Obviously what only matters is how he plays. Great stats and his appearance (which shouldn't be a big deal anyways) will dissolve by the wayside. And winning too. Acuna Jr just stands in the batter box compared to the Soto Shuffle gestures. And that time Soto danced on top of the dugout was a little theatrical but whatever.

Would you guys rather have a Bat Down PSA 9 or an Update Gold PSA 9? Which is most desirable? (10’s of both are currently out of my price range).

I LOVE the gold update Acuna. The blue uni and the gold match very well imo.

My favorite baseball to watch is the WBC. I'll watch any of the Dominican teams play. I love the excitement and joy that they play with. I know it goes against the Puritanical roots of American baseball but I have more fun watching players have more fun.

The Update Gold PSA 9 is much much rarer than the “bats down” in 9... and has a long term collector base I think it’s the better call for value Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

What I really enjoy is the "flair and personality" like at the end of the Armed Forces Bowl football game. Now that is classy! We need More of that!

Listen Ozzie, now, you know it's up to you whether or not you want to just do the bare minimum. Or... well, like Ronnie, for example, has thirty seven pieces of flair, okay. And a terrific smile.

Gold could end up being more because of the lower print run, although PSA 9 Bat Downs were ~$1000 at points this summer. |

I've been wanting a Heritage Action for awhile. Debating pulling the trigger on a PSA 9. Eventually want to add a bat down, but for now, I'm hapoy with my 2 holiday metallic snowflakes

Well, so much for me getting a bat down PSA 10 under $2k. I put in offers around $1,800 yesterday--got auto-rejected for all listings but 2 and one of those just sold for the BIN ($1,999).

There are a couple on ebay now at $540-550 that look good. Some other ones show white on a top corner, so I would suggest being very picky and choose the nicest one you can find. Some have a white spot on the surface that can be hard to detect in photos. A lot of PSA-9s would probably cross to min-gem BGS 9.5...and maybe even some true gems, so if you think you might sell it one day, that's another angle to consider. Good chance those bat down 9's are ~$700+ again soon.

It's okay to have more than one face of baseball especially since fans come from so many different backgrounds. We need to be expanding the appeal of the game, not shrinking it. I like Trout, Soto, and Acuna because they are passionate about the game in their own ways. Caring about the game is all I care about.
