Opened my two with my sons. Sat at the table and had a good time opening two packs at a time. With 64 cards, we nailed Luke, Leia for #'s 1-8. Many doubles of some iconic scenes. We hit 5 parallels between both boxes with the best being a purple. I'm pretty sure I visualized the card into existence. Hit a big Aqua and a big(in my eyes) peridot omega 75/75. Also got a Luke's family killed green /50.The others parallels were common. Definitely a memorable break and my oldest would like to open more boxes.

The bad news: It could’ve been better on the color. Box two was a double aqua. Base cards pretty much identical in both boxes.

The good news: Card condition has been phenomenal. I’m really impressed. Haven’t had releases this clean for a while (GPK was trash, F1 2020 parallels were mauled)

Other good news: Tomorrow can only be better on the other 3. I pulled a gold in yesterday box (currently at auction).

I also think “Aboard the Millennium Falcon” is a sleeper. It has Luke, Kenobi, Chewbacca, R2, 3PO, and Han. So pretty pumped for that one! Also at least Vader made an appearance on the peridot!

Parallels and most base are going to eBay for all interested.

Sorry for the slightly bum photos. Had knee surgery and not in my core element.

If I'm starting with this card, I did pretty well with our two boxes. The other day after watching Obi-Wan, I thought about the Tusken Raiders and how they essentially helped drive Anakin to become who he is today by killing his mother(Which I knew would happen after watching Episode 1 back in the day). With how they were portrayed in Book of Boba Fett, there just has to be more to the story, hopefully we find out. The first color we were excited to pull:



This next two cards were examples from 7 images I pulled from the 1977 set to share in the forums. This specific one I like because it speaks to the fans. Also the omega!

Montgomery Club box? How did you lose $200? A box of commons would get you a positive return.

Yes, it was an MC offering. Yes, you can grind a bunch of $5 singles to get your money back.....this is nothing new and we both have been around the boards long enough to know that.

Has anyone done a print run estimate on these? I’m getting 15.5k boxes, which would be good for a set of this magnitude. This would mean 3.5k of each base (fairly constrained for a modern release, F1 Sapphire has about 3k of each base for comparison). Seem right to folks?

Hmmmm…. Myslabs got cleaned out of lower priced SW sapphire boxes. I was still following earlier today and now they’re gone. The ones here on BO listed for 699 also gone… breakers?

Thanks. I will do a little more research this morning. Going to try and unload the vader base quickly. Had 7 duplicate base in my boxes as well and then two base of the two parallels I got, so 9 images in a 32 card box duplicated. So obviously....topps didnt do me a favor here......again. Must have been at the end of one load out, beginning of the next.

Those are the risk though....

I think a lot of people were waiting to see how well singles sold before they paid this kind of money for a box. Early sales look strong so people are finally diving in.

My box is at home, still in the box Topps mailed it to me, and that's where it's staying until I sell... no interest in opening this one, but had to buy my one since it was the first Star Wars release

Agreed. It's impossible to lose money on the MC price even with a box full of commons.

At $600 or so, 30 commons at 10-15$ each gets you back in the ballpark not counting pulling a big base or decent color. I expect to see box prices only go up from here as long as commons stay relatively strong.

What does everyone think the top 1/1 cards will fetch? Gotta be north of 5 large I would think..

You could easily lot 23 no dups and sell for $300 rather quickly. Lot up 7 no dups and sell those for $100 easy.

That's $350ish after fees and you still have 2 Aqua.

You'll easily turn a decent profit.
