In other news, Casey Mize threw 17 of 20 scheduled pitches today and basically disintegrated.

It probably didn’t help by Mize flapping his arms in support of the empty stadium to stand and applause another IR stint.

I'd still take him in Detroit. He went 6-14 with three homers in the series.

If he produces like that, he can throw one into the dugout every week for all I care.

Agreed 100%. Same defense argument was laid against JD in the outfield. He sucks, I don't want him. Um, he hits .270 with 30 bombs and 100 RBIs. Don't care if he muffs the occasional ball or defense suffers with limited range. Just can't have everybody in the field like that.

Tork is closing the season very strong. Hitting .316 and slugging .632 in September; by far his highest averages for a month. Two home runs shy of 30. I am officially excited about this guy now.

Tork's batted ball profile always suggested more was there. Next year will be VERY interesting since the Tigers appear to have a potentially star studded and YOUNG 2-3-4 hitters going forward.

If Harris adds a couple quality bats this winter, they might finally have a real offense.

There aren't really any quality bats outside of Ohtani (lol) and Chapman who will be overpaid by someone.

Riley Greene had Tommy John on his non-throwing arm. How the hell does that happen? No other organization has this many TJ surgeries.

Unfortunately most teams do have this many. Greene aside Tigers have a plethora of young pitchers. Not unsurprising given how this works in todays game.

Not even a Tiger fan but man Skubal is a beast, 4 wins in a row, 7-3, struck out 10 and gave up 0 runs lowering his ERA to 2.95. Feels slept on abit, like I said not a fan so don't always watch but when I have he seems to pitch pretty well, and if they do lose it's his reliever giving up runs.

Let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves. The last 4 games have been against the A’s, Angels and White Sox twice. As much of a Tigers & Skubal fan as I am, I need to see games against the elite teams to truly judge where he’s at. He’s definitely a great competitor and only in his third month of pitching after his injury last year.

I hope there isn’t a 9 game West Coast road trip in September next year. Get that over with in the summer, please, MLB.

Just a freak injury diving in the outfield. It will be interesting to track his recovery as the injury is to his non-throwing (right) arm.

Did anybody notice that when Oakland gifted Cabrera a $6.10 bottle of wine, the entire ballpark jam packed with 6,100 fans wanted their quarter back for the gift charge that was added to the ticket price. The fans thought the A’s front office would at least purchase a good Californian wine instead of Greenland’s Best Vintage.

Besides the A's, the four lowest scoring teams in baseball are in the AL Central with the Tigers being last of the bunch right now.

On a related note, Wyatt Langford, who the Tigers passed on for Max Clark, had a slash line of .360/.480/.677 with 29 extra base hits (10 HRs) across four levels of minor league ball in 44 games after getting drafted.

Eduardo Rodriguez is expected to opt out of his contract with the Tigers this off-season, per
@JonHeyman

He has 3 years and $49M left on his deal
No surprise there. Scott Harris is so inept.

Hopefully, the GM he hired knows what he's doing.

It’s interesting to see Gregory Soto clinching the wild card game for the Phillies. It was a low stress situation and hasn’t been dominant in relief this year, but he’s on a winning team.

The way the postseason is going makes me even more annoyed by the Max Clark pick over Wyatt Langford.

If a player wants to make the post season, the AL Central is the easiest place to do it. All you need is a chance. So, hopefully we get a few quality players this winter.

I hear ya, but we're going to have to wait a few years for this to play out as Clark is 3 years younger than Langford. After drafting Riley Greene and then Torkelson, it's like they had a choice between the two and went with a profile closer to Greene's.

Which is foolish. Greene is not profiling to be Yordan, Acuna, Harper, etc. Neither is Max Clark. Those are the kinds of guys who keep you in the postseason year after year and always give you a chance.

Wyatt Langford on the other hand...

He's also going to be in MLB next season.
