Does this include clear versions of scrubs? Cause there are a lot of ‘em.

Since they only make clears for 100 cards out of the 330 on the checklist, they usually do a pretty decent job of "scrubbing" the list...

Well Simeon Woods Richardson pitched in exactly one game for the Twins last year and has a clear. I wouldn’t want to pull that but that’s just me. Or a Tommy Henry or a Ken Waldichuk and on and on, did you see the clear checklist?

(A) I said "a pretty decent job," not perfect; (B) it's Series 2, not Series 1 or Update, so there's only going to be so much they can do. Would you rather they had included Hunter Strickland (currently a free agent) and Chad Kuhl (so far this year, 0-3 with a 7.67 ERA)?

My point is they didn’t “scrub” the list. They loaded it with scrubs. Which makes hobby less appealing. Besides these are 1 out of what 20 cases? You’re not going to pull one most likely. I actually pulled a Lou bob clear out of my 2022 case so I’ve beaten the odds in the past. But I would never by a hobby case with the aim of pulling a clear. Fools errand.

Again, you're missing the point - it's Series 2. There aren't 100 stars on the checklist to begin with. They do the best they can.

Well you defended backpages’ point that clears are why one buys hobby. I disagree based on the amount of players with no hobby love at all. I’ll just leave it at that, I don’t want to hijack the thread. Go buy hobby if you insist.

I mean, I literally said that I was doing no such thing, but whatever you say. I certainly endorse your decision to move on, though.

What set are those rookie debut patches going in? The one put on their first games jersey. I thought someone said they’d be the 1/1 in flagship but that could just be a lie. I haven’t seen anything about them since their debut

I thought it started in 2024 but I could be wrong

I did find this though it's not very specific

Quote:
When a rookie makes his debut or is called up to the big leagues for the first time, the Debut Patch will be placed on their jersey. Following the game in which he sees action for the first time, the patch will be removed, secured and authenticated for use in an upcoming Topps product.

Guys have had it on their jersey this year starting with opening day, you can see the patch on the players Topps Now card back.
Would be a real bummer if they waited and put the patches on next years cards and not on actual rookie cards.

Yes but usually cards are from relics /photos from the previous year.

I guess maybe you could see some in update but like TBP said most likely it will be in high dollar set.

Second of my hobby was as bleh as the first. Best pull was a Corbin Carroll rainbow. Both boxes no auto, both crappy relics...second a Darvish. Second best card was a blue silver pack Esteury Ruiz lol

Nothing I’ve seen makes me want to buy any Series 2 whatsoever. I think sitting it out is the best way to go.

I will say collation is jacked up.

I have watched a break of a 108 ct fat pack case where they pulled 5 or 6 Heavy Lumber cards that are supposed to fall 1 in every 800 or so packs and hardly hit any Blue Foil which are supposed to fall much much easier. Have also seen breaks where hobby was great and others where it was completely a waste land. But the Heavy Lumber thing blew my mind and the guy breaking the case was just as dumbfounded. lol

What is the unofficial print run of the SSP cards that have the gold lettering/coloring on the back of the card?

In Series 2, odds suggest ~75.

Series 1 was ~150.

Sucks that for set collectors they screwed up and didn't put the Gold Topps logo on the front of the card in Series 2.
