Great question and I've been thinking more about this as well. Here are a few that I think are slightly undervalued, and the reasons why.

1. Flawless Patch Autos (any of the variations) – Flawless is right in the phase where there is a good amount of supply since it was a recent release. I think longer-term, these truly game worn patch auto cards will appreciate at a decent rate in comparison to some of the other RPA. Admittedly the thing that really hurts these cards is the lack of the RC badge. They also have the more desirable version of Luka's auto, which is kind of a theme amongst all of these recommendations.

2. Contenders Optic Auto I have a theory that Optic Contenders will continue to overtake regular Contenders over the coming years because well, chrome always wins. Fast forward to the end of this season when they release another year of this stuff for 19-20, and it will only help cement Contenders Optic as the more sought after Contenders. Therefore the on card autos with once again the more desirable version of Luka's auto will make these really appreciate in value. They've gone up in price a crazy amount recently, but could also see all of the numbered variants (gold, orange, blue, etc.) continue to climb throughout the season.

3. Optic Numbered Holos/Prizms Another theory of mine (looking to the end of this season) is that Optic will continue to close the gap on Prizm once Optic is released for the 19-20 season, and will be close to equal footing with Prizm by the end of the season. When you look at the designs of both Optic and Prizm for the 19-20 season, it's clear that Optic wins again, and that will play a big part in the success of this year's Optic. Once THAT happens, I feel as though that will then make it's way into prior Optic releases (much like how the Lebron holo explosion this year bled into the 16-17 Holo price increase). So, that's a long winded way of saying the lower numbered Optic numbered parallels have room to grow when you cross compare them to Prizm parallels numbered around the same print run.

I'm biased as I have one myself, but I think if you can get your hands on a Flawless Patch Auto you need to drop everything and get it. In the long term you'll be in for a big time return.
Game worn and very limited, /1, /5, /10, /15 and /25 (nvm!). <--- Was only focused on my variation sorry haha
RC badge in my opinion won't matter as we are all educated enough to know it's his Rookie Patch, and the internet will back it up

56 x 5 equals 280 Flawless game used rpas from the following sets:

1) Star Swatch
2) Vertical Patch Auto
3) Horizontal Patch Auto
4) Patch Auto
5) Rookie Prime Materials

Just made a thread for this before I saw this thread...but I need some help getting a value on this. I have this Luka Doncic Gold Threads Dazzle Icon Jersey /10 BGS 9.5 True Gem Plus...a PSA 10 Gold Dazzle Next Wave sold on ebay at $610 but that is an insert that usually goes for less than the jersey thread dazzles. Any idea on what you think I could ask on this? Is it an $800 card or less or am I looking at a $1-1.5K card or is it way less? I know Threads is a lower valued card but that's why I need help. Any feedback is super appreciated.

Thanks for the input.

My thoughts:

Trying to sort through what's what with these is giving me a headache.
All the patch autos kind of bleed together, and none are rookie cards. Is there any one legacy patch/auto set within Flawless that stands out?

I think you're right on these, but man, the prices are already sky high.
But I get it, this might be his only Chrome Auto true rookie, since Rated Rookies autos aren't.

3. Optic Numbered Holos/Prizms Another theory of mine (looking to the end of this season) is that Optic will continue to close the gap on Prizm once Optic is released for the 19-20 season, and will be close to equal footing with Prizm by the end of the season. So, that's a long winded way of saying the lower numbered Optic numbered parallels have room to grow when you cross compare them to Prizm parallels numbered around the same print run.

I think the Silver and the Blue may be the way to go here... but it looks like prices on the Blue may have already taken off too.
A common theme I usually go with is that something has to stand out. Silvers, Blues, and common popular parallels (Gold, Mojo, tie die, Velocities) seem to stand out. Definitely giving me some things to think about.

I bought up all the mosaic parallels I could find and some base over the last 2-3 weeks. I think I sold you a couple base lol. Mosaic is kind of like the red headed prizm stepchild but so was optic for a while...but I like the design, lower print runs, better action shot than optic and they are shiny refractor silver. Pop is still low on PSA 10 as well.

Edit: also buy blue parallels!

I just won this lot for $566 at Probstein auctions yesterday. I would have 2 questions, would be curious on your opinions:

1) Not sure how I've missed it, but I've just realised now, that it's from Probstein. I've heard/read so many bad about that seller, not sure what to expect. Would you deal with him? This was the only photo about the lot, no pic from the back, plus the cards doesn't look handled with care (I mean I would never put my cards in a scanner like this. Although if the condition is good, I think $566 is pretty good for 4 courtsides plus the 3 base rookies. The 3 base rookies might be $60ish total, so $500 isn't too bad for 4 courtside RCs with an average price of $125 for each. I believe, that this might be a very sought after rookie card in the future, actually I would buy it all day long for $125 over the $80-90 base Prizm rookie. Not sure what you guys think.

2) I know it's silly, but the scanned pictures are so bad. Might the bottom card a silver? The light turning from yellow to red on the first card is very suspicious, however it's on all cards just not as big, so I assume it's just a weird effect by the scanner. Obv that would be the jackpot of my life, but I guess I'm not that lucky. There is no other image uploaded, so I can't check the back. But obv that's just a hope, the reality is, that all are base cards, which isn't too bad either.

Hard to say anything Luka is undervalued right now.

Flawless patch autos are insanely expensive. But I do agree they are a terrific add if you can afford one.

Contenders Optic does look nice, and doesn't have the loopy auto. But it's still the bastard child of Contenders in football, and I don't think that will change in basketball either (I say this without knowing exact prices for Luka, just that they are both pricey).

Everything Optic is expensive too, but there's a lot available. I would expect prices to continue to come down. If adding, I would go after any color and PSA 10 Holos. That probstein PSA 10 last night was a steal. But I'd rather let someone else buy from him.

good pick up!! i was watching this towards the end also!!! probstein is fine to deal with, sometimes his auctions end higher than they should because of the shill bidding.... and no, non of these are silvers, i actually sent him a message asking that same question and his response was "no, sorry".

still great pickup, the courtside cards are great!

Sometimes people will bid up their own auctions on probstein but I've also seen the opposite where people don't bid on his auctions for that reason and the cards go significantly cheaper than they would in a real auction. I haven't had any bad experiences though. You just need to check comps and make sure you're not dealing with someone bidding their own auction up.

I'm banking on Optic Contenders (in general) slowly taking off in the short and long term. Here are a few reasons why- still photos vs action shots. paper vs shiny chrome. 2019-20 release will bump this next summer. football vs basketball= apples to oranges imo with this one only. Although over time, I think OC will catch up to Contenders in football as well. I have a few more reasons but I'll stop there. Let's keep these under the rug though. nothing to see here move along......

I agree with all of this (made similar points on the first post of this page), I think OC will take over Contenders rather quickly in Bball where the shiny stuff is always king.

Some real purdy OC color popping up these days...

In regards to Probstein/PWCC (anyone else online)...I suppose the simplest thing to say is...do your homework/research on any card you're bidding on and the companies you're doing business with.

Or ask the BODA if you're unsure about something. They've been great!

You don't want to be stuck with the hot potato at the end of the day...

Also far as Luka's cards are concerned, I love his Blue parallel (blue on his blue uni) and what I suspect as his real autograph on the card.

I would sell now. White guys can't be a star in the NBA. He's just last years fad. Lot's of people can do what he does. Soon he will be forgotten by the latest rookie crop.

Anyone have any info on the contenders optic orange /25 variations redemption that is on ebay right now? I've been watching and just had an offer sent to me to buy..

Difference between the "regular" and "variation"?? I have the blue /99 and love it but not sure this one is worth the 2.5x price premium?

Thanks!
