With Beckett no longer doing colector spotlights and really, no one I know focusing on supercollectors... It would be awesome to see the collection of someone who started buying Giannis from the start and still has everything they bought. What they paid $ vs. what they're worth now.

I remember local card shows where sellers had 100+ hoops, pinnacle, SP Authentic, and others for $3 each or $2 if you bought in bulk. There's gotta be one guy out there who just went nutty on them and kept em.

3 years ago, I remember meeting a father and son collecting family where dad ONLY bought 2011 Trout Update rookies, graded, ungraded, etc - he must have 400-500 of them and many many gem's. I believe he stopped when he couldn't get tem for under $100 raw/graded. Just crazy

I would imagine there's a few. It takes some luck though. Usually they would be a fan of the team or something like that. Not an apples to apples comparison but I bought a ton of Jimmy G. RC's (football) when they came out. Only because I was a Patriot fan and Brady was getting up there in years. His 5000 yards passing and 55 TD's the previous year at the Eastern Illinois also intrigued me. Same school that Tony Romo went to. Anyways, that actually ended up very well for me but I was also a little lucky as well. Joe Blow the collector wouldn't have hoarded a player like that for no reason though. He ok a but he wasn't highly sought after as a rookie.

Hoops color. It isn't a matter of if they take off, rather when. You should be able to get a red, gold, and blue raw for a little over 1k. Seems steep, but when you survey the landscape of 2013 releases, it makes all that much more sense.

Innovation Stained Glass... since I last posted about them a couple BGS Gems sold for 1500-1800, then a raw O/C for $8+, then a BGS 8.5 for $580, which had 3 9.5 subs and got hit as an 8 for centering, which though the pic is pretty dark, didn't look that bad to me. I might've bought that if I'd seen it.

Now we're left with that same raw that's been up for a while at $2449 BIN/BO, and 65 people are watching it...

If you can find a nice copy for $1000-1200 don't hesitate. Or a nice BGS copy for $1500-1700. No telling what a PSA 10 would bring right now.

Do you or anyone have a rough estimate on the colored hoop prices. Lots of comps for regular but not sure about color. Also what is the rarity scale obv regular and is blue the rarest? Seems to be based on pop reports. Any print run info?

I do know that there are a couple of Red/Blues that keep recirculating eBay.

NMMT Raw red/blue are 350 to 450 depending on the amount of visible wear.
Mint raw, probably 500+

There typically are 3 to 5 of each available at any given time on eBay. Sometimes a couple more, but this is just based on observations 2017 to now.

Someone on this forum sold a heat lebron prizm with a blue border Giannis hoops rc for $275 yesterday... sad I missed it the blue is probably worth $400 plus from what I can tell.

Looks like there’s a lot of buyers out there throwing down some serious cash on Giannis right now. I pulled the trigger way too early on selling a couple RCs to pay for home renovations early on in this whole COVID debacle.

I would say investing in Giannis right now is a great plan, but it looks like the whole world has that plan once the NBA return was announced! Giannis’ expectations are growing with this price surge for sure.

The Bucks have a great shot of winning it all and even if they don’t Giannis is going to dominate for years to come, but at what point are these prices going to peak? Is it just going to be a frenzy in anticipation of the season resuming? Is a championship baked into some of these prices?

Let’s be honest, I’m just pumped about the NBA returning and I’m just trying to figure out how much money I want to drop on Giannis right now

If they make to the Finals and Play the Lakers, and lose (not to the triple teaming of GA by Bron, AD, and Dwight/JValle) people might assume the "win it for Kobe" lines, and be okay with the loss.

By the way, the Lakers front court could stomp out any paint play if they align the right guys on the court at the same time... However, that's Korver's time to shine.

Well any profit is good profit so don't beat yourself up over it. No one has a crystal ball. We've all made the same mistake but it wasn't really a mistake at the time it was actually a smart decision. Plus you put that money into your house which is something you use every day.

And I agree with the rest of your post as well they do have a great shot at winning it. I think beating the Lakers will be challenging though. Giannis doesn't have a side-kick of anyone nearly as good as A.D.

We often look back on how many championships a certain player has won and give too much credit to that one individual. It takes a great team to win a championship not just one player.

It's been a while since I've had really nice hit. Well, I got a sweet piece of mail today boys! I hit this card last week in a 1 box break with Ryan over at Firehand Cards. Buy-in was $12 and change after tax. I took 1 spot in a 100 spot random numbers break. You gotta love it when you crush odds.

I've been buying into these 1 box breaks recently because it's basically the only break I can afford these days. I realize cards with PM in them are kind of hokey to some folks, but as someone who dabbles in precious metals, I really dig the uniqueness (cool factor) of holding something that combines both hobbies. That said, I think I'm going to be holding this one for a while.

Sources say the NBA condensed playoff schedule will favor the younger players. Which should help teams like the bucks, over older teams like the lakers/clippers. Time will tell though.

If I’m not mistaken, and I don’t think I am, the Bucks are one of the most veteran teams in the NBA .
