Purdy increased his Y/A to 9.9 today and will be in top-5 in passing yards. Maybe higher depending on the last couple games this week

And Purdy didn't even come from behind to win. Super bum!

Seahawks did have a 10-7 lead at the end of the 1st quarter - does that count?

Another excellent game.....had 1 INT on a play where there was miscommunication between him and Aiyuk on the route and the ball arrived slightly in front of Aiyuk and slipped through his fingers for a difficult interception by the defensive back.

Nonsense....if that was the case, then every QB that Shanahan has coached would be just as good as Purdy.

Anybody who actually watches Purdy play can see that he is much more than a "system" QB. He makes excellent reads, has a terrific arm, makes terrific downfield throws (for example the throw to Deebo for his TD today), and runs the offense with confidence.

Mahomes has a far better career resume, but right now, in 2024, Purdy is clearly the better QB. He's leading the league in just about every important QB rate category (QBR, YPA, etc.), whereas Mahomes isn't even in the top 5.

Mmmm, I'll need hermano to weigh in on the quality of deficit per quarter. I suspect he'll say it's a sliding scale where a win is at the highest possible quality when a quarterback is down by 5 points and throws a 99-yard bomb as time expires to win the game.

So a first quarter deficit is worth like 18% of a W.

Ugh, I didn't want to type a novel. Also right now is 2023 for another couple of weeks, not 2024. A typo on your part but I'll call it out since you clipped out the part of my quote out where I said Purdy was having a better season in 2023 than Mahomes:

Purdy isn't merely a typecast system quarterback. Shanahan plays to Purdy's strengths and his strengths are clearly league leading. People need to stop associating "system quarterback" with "the coach gets all the credit, the QB's levers are being pulled by the playcaller." The system is something Purdy is good at, and he's executing it at an elite level right now. Less talented QBs execute the system less effectively (for example, Jimmy Garoppolo). Joe Montana executed the West Coast offense at an elite, MVP, HoF level. The West Coast offense is a system. He was a system quarterback in that he played in a system.

I'm not going to call Purdy an all-time great yet but if he continues like this he will be.

I thought Greg Olson and Kevin Burkhardt had a nice little commentary on Purdy today during the game. Can't find the clip on youtube or anywhere online. But they pretty much said it's time to stop the madness calling Purdy a system QB.

I've been saying this for 3 months. Nearly every single person in here called him just a "game manager" or "system QB". And they were dead wrong

Thanks for your concern!

This game has done absolutely nothing to change the narrative. The niners are LOADED and have been expected to win the Super Bowl this year because of their coaching and their healthy offensive weapons.

CMC 145 yards rushing
Deebo 149 yards receiving
Aiyuk 126 yards receiving
Kittle 76 yards receiving

NFC championship runner-up in 2021 before Purdy even showed up, now with CMC who should be an MVP candidate but unfortunately he is just a running back. Purdy will need an adversity-crushing game in order to make a statement that he has arrived. It's easy to look good when your pumpkin-carriage is being pulled by stallions.

We are still waiting.

I must have missed that part of the game where those balls just feel out of the sky into the WR's arms. Did you hear Greg Olson and Burkhardt talking to you yesterday during the game. Mahomes needs some more stacked players where he can pad his stats.. Maybe after last nights meltdown his mother will let him breast feed for a few more years. He is kind of old for that but if thats what it takes go for it Patty!! As great as you say he is you would think he could make those WR's look better but I guess he isn't what you think he is.

I wonder if Purdyrella can win a playoff game on one leg? Good thing Prince McCharming came wandering into town to help carry him.

The way he is able to move and the way he can push the ball down field and the incredible accuracy

After a year of this. I’m done fighting it

He’s really good

Not sure if people hate San Fran. Or people just don’t believe because of where he was drafted.

Lastly. He had major surgery 8 months ago. Pretty incredible

Hopefully he stays healthy. Because this is one of the greatest NFL stories of all time

Like Kurt Warner and greatest show on turf. But people never doubted Kurt or called him a game manager. It’s funny .. Kurt’s team was loaded

Hopefully he overcomes his jitters and doesn’t fake an injury again during the playoffs.

I wonder if Pouting Patty can win a Super Bowl this year without a stacked group of WR's. Do you think his mother will let him breast feed before next weeks game where he doesn't have another meltdown on national TV.. We were getting worried about you yesterday. I knew the game Purdy had I knew the BP couldn't take much more. #WELLNESSCHECK

It’s a great story. We get that.

I still think he needs a signature win to shut the rest of the critics up. It still hasn’t happened yet.

You won't survive a Purdy MVP & Super Bowl.
