Based on the above, happening to two people, it appears maybe they forgot, or at least didnt get around to, surveys for the extra 20 people in the Round 2 OA tier. Maybe something to do with the Round 2's being an after-the-fact add on to the original campaign. Hopefully they can get that corrected.

Appears from the backer comments several people didn’t get surveys, so it may not just be that round 2 OAs. Don’t know if it was an error that some backers didn’t get one or if the surveys come out in waves maybe.
Hasn’t been a response yet…guess we’ll see.

Maybe they preselected those receiving the extras and only sent them the survey? I have no idea.

I was wondering that too. I think we calculated there's like a 1 in 3 chance a random backer gets an extra beyond the stuff everyone gets.

But if that colored metal Hulk card is called an extra, and I think it is, that would go to every single backer, and I thought that at the least would be going out with this shipment.

I swore I saw them post something at some point that everyone was getting some sort of extra? I thought they got complaints about the lottery aspect and were going to send everyone something.

Part of me wonders if the surveys that went out (I got one) were just a smoke test to make sure it works. Apparently a lot of people doing Kickstarters do smoke tests with a small number of people for whatever reason. Usually they are using a third-party system, like Backerkit, to manage it. Of course, the other creators state as much when sending them out...

Regardless, the cynic in me says there is no specified timeline of when a creator asks for mailing addresses via a survey and when they actually ship. It all could be just a stall tactic in disguise as an update. Until I get a tracking number, it's all vaporware, right?

This was from Update 12 (Oct 2023), when they first announced the gold spidey. Whether it is still accurate or not, idk.

I thought maybe the 'default extra' that everyone gets is that colored metal Hulk card that was called a Stretch Goal. But it's hard to say what to expect. It does look like everyone should expect a package though.

Im not nearly as familiar with kickstarter, this being the first project I've been involved in. I wonder if you dont get a survey, they could still go off the address you have in your Kickstarter profile? (it does let you update a shipping address to your profile page). Or do they have to have an actual survey for the address to ship anything. It's just strange why some would get surveys and some not. I actually do think they are shipping things out this go-around with that latest update saying they'll email with tracking.

I remember that, too, now that you mentioned it. I just read through all the Kickstarter updates again. The original announcement of randomly inserted extras was in the May 9, 2023 update:

Quote:
As collectors ourselves, we strive to make this fun for everyone that participated in the Kickstarter campaign. To that end, we will be including randomly inserted one-of-a-kind metal and bronze cards for our backers….ALL the backers, at ALL the reward levels! There will be about 150 of them in all, so one in ten backers will randomly receive one!
Then came the announcement of 400 bronze Hulk cards and 15 silver Hulk cards in the September 5, 2023 update:

Quote:
Sooooooo, there will now be 400 solid bronze HULK cards randomly inserted into the boxes when the book ships!! OH, and there are also an additional 15 VERY SPECIAL RANDOMLY INSERTED SOLID SILVER HULK CARDS WHICH WEIGH APPROXIMATELY 5 OUNCES! They are all now in-house, waiting for the final arrival of the art books and the digests, which all backers will receive.
This was followed by the October 2, 2023 update announcing the gold Spider-Man card and that every single backer will be getting a random pouch with a giveaway item:

Quote:
Soooooooo, we have just added in a ton more giveaway items, and now EVERYONE will receive something!!!! EVERY SINGLE BACKER that pledged a reward!!!!! WE WANT YOU ALL TO KNOW THAT WE REALLY, R-E-A-L-L-Y RECOGNIZE HOW SUPPORTIVE YOU HAVE BEEN.

And, hey, while we’re at it, how about one last not-so-little giveaway added into the mix? A drumroll, please…………….WE HAVE ADDED A ONE-OF-ONE, SOLID GOLD SPIDER-MAN CARD! This is no joke. It’s the real deal. Approximately $12,000 of SOLID GOLD! It’s kinda like Willy Wonka’s five Golden Tickets…except there’s only ONE of them!

Now, here’s how all the Giveaway Madness is going to work…

There will be a pouch containing a giveaway item placed in each and every package sent out to backers. EVERY SINGLE BACKER will receive a giveaway pouch.

We have a plan for how to randomly insert the giveaway items into those pouches. Each pouch will look exactly the same on the outside. Once they are stuffed by FPG Crew #1, FPG Crew #2 will receive them as sealed pouches for shipping, with no knowledge of what’s inside. That’s it. Nothing fancy. No overkill. Everybody has the same chance. And, every package is going to have something pretty darn special in it!
I can't find an update that announces the 15 silver Spider-Man and 15 silver Psylocke cards, but they were mentioned in an official comment to the November 15, 2023 update.

Several times, an official comment promised to post a list of all the extra goodies but I can't find one. So who knows. There have to be a lot more extras if all 1,605 backers are getting a giveaway pouch.

400 Bronze Hulk Cards
+ 15 Silver Hulk Cards
+ 15 Silver Spider-Man Cards
+ 15 Silver Psylocke Cards
+ 1 Gold Spider-Man Card
+ 50 1-of-1 Colored Metal Hulk Cards
= 496 Giveaway Items

My initial guess was FPG ordered multiple copies of the colored metal Hulk cards but if so they won't be 1-of-1 cards anymore. When FPG announced earlier this month they're going to ship out the extras, the update included the standard metal Hulk card that was part of the original campaign. Supposedly every book pledge, not every backer, will include the metal Hulk card.

EDIT: I see DynaEtch posted some of the same info as I was putting this post together.

I've done close to 60 at this point. All have surveys. They are there to a) confirm addresses; and b) to try and make sure you don't want to add any extras that may have been unlocked since you pledged. For comics, it's probably more 'b' as some have dozens of variant covers you can buy.

I think you're right, the metal Hulk card was considered a 'Stretch Goal' and comes with each pledge, not just one per backer as an extra. In that case 496 lotto extras (I got the same number so sounds right) out of like 1605 backers. Not sure how that means everyone gets an extra goodie unless Im missing something else they promised along the way that goes to everyone. (I do remember some muttering about only some people receiving extras, kinda remember they corrected that but dunno). From the above updates it does sound like each backer will receive some kind of pouch.

Granted it's to the point that it's 'who knows' territory. I have no idea what to expect.

Nope. It might mean that only those who got chosen for the extras are getting the shipping notification.

I got mine, and for some reason, it's insured for $10,000.

I kid, I kid.
(about the insured part. I actually did get a shipping notice this morning, though.)

Feel free to post that exact same thing the day after tomorrow, though.
You're totally covered for such tomfoolery on Monday.

Yea I dunno. They did post in the one update everyone gets a package with a pouch with goodies. I got a shipping survey, but no shipment notification (maybe it's slowly being shipped out). Other people Im talking to didnt even get a survey, or their emails answered.

I got a shipping survey and a shipping notification. I ordered the lowest tier and will let people know what I got but I live further away so I think it will take a little longer for me to get mine.

Same I just got the basic one and got the survey and shipping notice. It says it's shipping from Pittsburgh, I'm in San Diego so won't be the first to get anything.

Any non-basic tier backers get a shipping notification? Out of the ones who posted they got one so far. Only thing I can think of is they are working up the tiers in order to get the packages out, because a lot of backers still seem to have received nothing, no shipping surveys.

Keep us posted on what sort of thing you get (if willing to share), as it will help in figuring out if everyone was supposed to receive a package or only the lotto-extra backers.

I received the survey and filled it out, but did not receive shipping notification (I was the 2nd tier pledge).

Got the survey, but no shipping notification yet. I got the $295 one ("Limited Signed & Numbered Edition"). Not sure where that fits tier-wise.

Thanks for the info, that could align with they are working their way up the order of tiers for physical shipping. Signed/limited edition is middle (2nd) tier. Can also confirm for an original art round 1 tier: received shipping survey, no shipping notification.
