Apparently Nicolo Fagioli was using multiple fake identities to make his bets.

Argentine World Cup-winning midfielder Papu Gomez has been given a two-year ban by Fifa after testing positive for a banned substance, say his club Monza.

The test was taken BEFORE the World Cup.. so it looks like Argentina had a juiced player at the WC.

Papu started the last 16 match against Australia, in which Argentina wobbled to a 2-1 victory....

which begs the question... if his test was before the World Cup, why are we only hearing about it now almost a year later?

It's ridiculous. There's no way it took this long. Why didn't FiFA say anything before?

It would have made no difference IMO but now you get to hear more of the "Messi was gifted the World Cup" crowd. Just wonderful.

Is there real buzz or just tabloid fodder. I can never tell. I figured Musiala to have a very long tenure at Bayern, but money talks.

Finally, CL is back tomorrow. Had enough of non-football related banter and gossip, on all apps and media channels. Let's get back to business!

Maybe a bit of both. It's been bubbling for a few weeks.

All I know is, his card prices have tanked a bit.

His contract is through 2026 so not too worried now. On the other hand, it’s my belief that Davies is as good as gone to Madrid in the summer. His agent has been publicly twerking for the last few months, and Davies’ body language (at least to me anyway) just isn’t the same.

Sky Sports Germany tonight reporting that Musiala would consider Man City or Real Madrid if he feels Bayern don't match his ambitions.

What exactly are his ambitions that Bayern Munich could not match?

Newcastle and Italy midfielder Sandro Tonali has been banned for 10 months by the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) for breaching betting rules.

The 23-year-old will not be eligible to play again until August and will be unavailable to feature at Euro 2024 next summer should Italy qualify.

Today KÍ Klaksvík of the Faroe Islands are at home to Olimpija Ljubljana in the European Conference League. It’s probably their best chance of getting a win in the Group stages, notwithstanding that, even with a win, qualification would be very unlikely.

Have generally been enjoying the European Group stages this season. Feels as though there are more “open” Groups than is usually the case.

This weekend, I’m at the Inter vs Roma match in Serie A. It is billed as Lukaku’s return to the Giuseppe Meazza / San Siro. However, my personal view is that Roma will not play him given the “bad blood” which will be evident in the stadium.

Billy Gilmour was sensational for Brighton tonight.

You could pick his cards up in the dollar bin before the start of the season. All he needed was a proper run in a team intelligent enough for him.

Fati looks like he's enjoying himself too.

Is nobody pumping Kvaratskhelia anymore?

Couldn't move for people talking about him last season, not a peep this!

The pumpers have largely disappeared from the soccer collecting world....and the real football fans knew last year (and know now) that he's a good, but not great, young player.

Also, I think what's happened to Mudryk at Chelsea has made people a bit more cautious about over-hyped wingers from eastern Europe.

and it continues..

Liverpool are considering a move for Bayern Munich's 20-year-old Germany forward Jamal Musiala, who is unhappy with his playing time. (Mirror)

This is why I think this could all just be pure rumors. He plays just about all of Bayern's meaningful minutes outside of when he was dealing with a hamstring earlier in the season.
