I have no problems with people spending money on his cards. As a matter of fact, the sealed 2018 FOTL I have makes me hope they keep doing it. If watching him play excites people, and if collecting his cards excites people too, then good everyone involved.

It was the hearing about how he was already such a great basketball player that was going to lead Atlanta to being a legit contender THIS year that was cringey to me. Not everybody has to agree with me, but it seems like the players around the league do.

Now, anybody who can just see the potential and knows still has a ways to go in rounding out his game before he gets there, I can agree with.

This isn't to bash on him.. it's just to show the discrepancy between card collecting reality and NBA reality.

As a Hawks fan I still think Ben Simmons should get in over him. I think Trae will get in because it's in Atlanta but Simmons has been better.

They've both had some rough stretches. Tough call between Simmons and Trae IMO. I think one thing that helps Trae is that his game is more likely to land him on a highlight reel. Elite defense is not very important to All-Star voting, and Simmons was a 12ish PPG guy for a good chunk of the season.

Someone is not making it in the East. I'm secretly hoping Kyrie decides to rest or something so Trae, Simmons, Harden and LaVine can make it. I think they all deserve it over Kyrie.

Well of course - this is all hinging on what Giannis wants to do. I don't think he would demand a trade either, but they are looking pretty sunk lately. They really need Jrue for this thing to work. Their depth guys haven't been great and are bad defenders [Forbes, Augustin]. And with BroLo looking like he's taking a step back they're in a tough spot.

The thing is, with all the stars doing it now, his peers wouldn't really blame him for asking out. I think the only thing keeping Giannis from doing that, is Giannis. But the thing about people, is that they sometimes change their minds.

Just look at all these picks in 21-24, I've never seen anything like it.

Closest in recent memory may be how Boston was able to rebuild after unloading their aging stars and then building from the draft with Smart/Tatum/Brown etc.

So if I'm the Bucks FO and things are really heading south and then Giannis asks out, this would be what I want.

And if I'm Presti - well there's no way to draft a Giannis, and you already have some young building blocks and a young star in SGA. I think I would do it.

Edit - and really, Bucks could package Jrue/KM in with Giannis as well... Not sure Presti would want to do that, but they could. They have $13 mil in cap room, and Jrue has a player option for next year. Horford+Ariza works salary-wise, with the cap room they have they can absorb Jrue.

SGA-Jrue-Dort-Bazley-Giannis is really fun... who knows.
