I think the lack of actual serial numbering hurts these cards. But I also think they could turn into sleepers.

I only have four Topps Now cards in my collection. These are numbered but don't command much of a premium.

Topps Now isn’t meant for flipping or investing. It’s for collectors to just enjoy.

I noticed it was a ton of sales, but not a rise in price.

Just for example the Pink Refractor PSA 10 that I had listed for quite some time finally sold. I checked to see if the price was rocketing upward and it wasn't, but there were a ton of sales. I listed another one at the exact same price via BIN and it hasn't sold. I might shift it when I run my next auction this week in case he does something big in the WS.

Of course that hotness lasted all of one day as there were zero sales today.

ETA: Looking back a little farther (say 10 days instead of 5), the price does seem to have risen a little bit. Maybe 15% on average.

The person who had the auction ending on Oct 22 did very well. Oct 21? Not so much. None on the 23rd (yet). We'll see what happens Sunday and Monday with only two ending on those days.

Next week could end up a huge buying opportunity since there were 7 low priced auctions listed in the last three days with who knows how many coming tomorrow. That somewhat limits the upside, but the downside is tremendous. I would not want to have a Yordan Pink PSA 10 at auction set to end next weekend.

I think this highlights the key to the auction. If you run it when there isn't much supply and the guy is hot on the day the auction ends, you'll do well. Maybe even better than BIN. Otherwise, average at best. And if the player gets cold? Yikes! This happened to me with Gallo. He gets traded on Wednesday, all my auctions were set to end on Friday. I watched a ton of cards go for 30% more than I had them listed for, on Wed/Thu, but by Friday everybody was done buying.

I will definitely consider ending my auctions later. I've been targeting 10-11 PM EDT, but I might go ahead and do a few at 11-12 or later. I would think the downside is people run out of money if they win earlier, the upside being not as much competition at that time.

In the last couple weeks a lot of Yordans have been taken off my watchlist. Nicer things like Heritage and A&G rarities and 10s on his TC refactors. Prices might not be shooting up but anything that looks like a bargain is getting grabbed.

In light of Yordan's ALCS MVP - coupled with the fact I recently discovered how to post images myseld - wanted to share several of my favorite PC pickups over the past year.

Looking forward to what the big man will do in the WS.

Thank you. The Dynasty popped up last offseason and was a very reasonably priced BIN. Love it.

You have a striking similar collection of recent pick ups to me. Love it! Just swap dynasty with my Sterling obsession. I'm working on the Topps Gold now as my next pick up.

I was worried that the upper right corner was going to be really soft, but it turned out not to be too bad. Still in the 9 range.

Regardless, I’m just glad to have a black again. I bought one when ‘20 Topps first came out, but then sold it right after he was ruled out for the rest of the Covid season. Been searching for another one pretty much ever since!

Congrats on the black! Looks great.

Got the Stadium Foil card you gave me a tip on. My first CSG slab. I really like the clear finish on the slab. Great card in hand too!

I made a half-hearted attempt at that one, ~~I think I was the next highest bidder aside from yourself~~ I just went back and looked, I was the starting bidder on that auction... glad you're the one that won it!

I agree on CSG slabs -- they are by far the nicest slabs in hand. Crystal clear plastic, really makes the card stand out since the rest of the slab is nearly invisible.

Very nice card. I love the series of images for Yordan in SC.

I am still looking to pick up my first CSG slab, but from what I have seen and heard so far, I won’t be surprised if they start taking a big bite out of PSA in the future.
