I think this is the case. The email they sent yesterday cancelling the draft blasters referenced a vendor error. Somebody over at excell is getting an ass chewing after back to back weeks with expensive screwups out of one department.

Whether you get a box with panini tape or not all shipments are coming from excell. target isn’t touching the product.

Interesting dilemma.

They sent me this a couple weeks ago when I bought 10 blasters. from the outside it would appear to be a full blaster case.

I've received boxes that appeared like sealed cases (from the outside) but actually weren't.

mine in the pic above is definitely not a full case of 20 based on weight, but some rube could be taken advantage of based on the looks of the box. the whole excell shipping the product thing is weird.

yeah, unfortunately true. always gotta do one's due diligence when purchasing sealed cases on the secondary market, and even then, you're not perfectly "protected".

for sure. they clearly had to open the case to remove 10 blasters, no idea why the sealed it back exactly like it was a legit case.

Back to the topic though, if them mislisting the Prizm drafts was the reason they canceled the orders, then they’ll have excess stock. Would definitely keep an eye out for them each morning. They gotta relist them at some point, either this week or possibly just have excess in next weeks drop.
If you don't understand that any product that causes a loss, be it from a mistake in advertising, theft or any other reason, a company will make it up through higher prices on other products, then I don't know what to tell you.

Y’all… if Absolute were licensed this set would be amazing. Just ripped one blaster box and was impressed with all the numbered cards, 1 auto/mem per blaster, rookies. Fun rip for $20. Seems like it’s 75% inserts though lol but the inserts aren’t terrible

I’ll pass on trying to lecture you about corporate finance, especially since it’s clear you have next to no experience/education about it so it’ll take a while…

I spent 20+ years in retail management and have a pretty good grasp on how it works but whatever.
If you don't believe companies pass losses off onto their customers then you're the one who needs to be educated.

What is the consensus on Topps S2 Giant Boxes? I bought a couple off t the website the other day. Seems to me like they're a little better value than blasters, am I off base?

It's blister packs - I think it's a decent offering - 10 packs.

They're decent and probably fun to open, but what Target wants for 2 of them, I instead opted for an S2 hobby box.

I’ll try to summarize this as general as I can. Yes Target / other large companies likely have a targeted earnings level. But raising prices because of theft isn’t a viable strategy. Their products are already competitively/optimally priced. Raising prices won’t necessarily increase revenue (it may actually decrease it in most instances). Instead they just have less to spend on other opportunities (for example, expanding to a new area or spending more on marketing) and still meet their targeted earnings level. For example, Amazon had historically targeted 0 net earnings and invested all their extra money into opportunities to expand the business.

Also, companies often will hedge against risks like theft. For example, you can buy insurance against theft. Anyways, do you actually think a company with 75 billion in revenues will care about, at most maybe a lost $10,000?

For reference since you wanted to bring up credentials, I’ve spent 3 years in corporate finance and now 5+ years in operations at a Fortune 500 company. Didn’t realize store managers for large retailers like Target were the ones deciding product prices though… either way believe what you want to believe, and sorry to tear into you but figured I’d do a little educating

Excuse me sir, your MBA is showing.

How much of that experience was with a retail company?

You get 16 cards per pack 16 packs per box, much better than a blaster. They are on par with a hanger about .15 a card.

Check the Mega box thread, missing the CB link might be a good thing.

Look, a p!ssing contest. Target cares about shrinkage. They are now closing all their San Francisco stores earlier because of it. Me however, I just stay away from cold water.

I will never understand why people post this type of stuff on a sports card forum. You're just trying to bait (it worked) him into a response so you can "educate him." Usually I just pass these posts and roll my eyes, but for some reason I felt compelled to respond today.

That one caught me off guard - I’d no idea they even had an online store.
I’m currently waiting on the report I commissioned from charmcity about CB’s security infrastructure…
