The change on the sports side is subtle, except for the awesome new pristine label. Really like what they did with that one, as it totally stands out from the other flip. For me, this kind of design is what I was hoping SGC would do with its gold label for years.

I still think that CSG, now CGC cards, has the best looking slabs out there. If resale price was remotely close to PSA, I'd probably never slab with PSA again. But alas...

June 15th sent a STANDARD order (17 items)
June 20th it arrived at the PO Box
June 22nd entered into the system
Current status July 13th - Quality Control/Finalized (been in this status for a week)

June 22nd sent an EXPRESS order (2 items)
June 26 it arrived at the PO Box
July 5th entered into the system
Current status July 13th - Scheduled for Grading

They need to start meeting estimated turnaround times or they are going to lose a lot of business. This is the second group of orders in a row where I've been very dissatisfied w/ their service and customer service as well when I call in.

3 strikes you're out.

And I was an early proponent of CSG and I love their slabs. But I won't pay money for crap service I don't care if BGS Priority vs CSG Express is 2x as much, rather have my cards back in-hand when I'm supposed to get them back.

Did they contact you to let you get the new slab? That could have pushed back your order. Right now with their changes it is probably chaos right now at CGC. No excuses though. If they couldn't meet turnaround times during this changeover, they should have stopped taking submissions or increased estimated turnaround times to be more transparent.

Their last set of excuses was "we are updating our computer systems" or something. Perhaps if they planned to scale appropriately and made a good label they could stick with in the beginning, they wouldn't have multiple scenarios in which they drop the ball on service and customer service.

It's not like they had years of thousands of comic book submissions and grading to use as a guide on scaling up or anything...

I see CGC is now labeling cards as “errors” when they get crimped in the pack sealing. What a joke.

Hi, I just joined CSG - I love the look of their slabs. I’m going to drop some. cards off at the National, but I have a question and I’m hoping someone here can help me. Do they just authenticate cards and not give them a grade? I can’t seem to find that info anywhere. Thanks for your help!

They grade cards. They just merged with CGC. Check out cgccards.com

I'm going through all my green label CSG slabs to crack and resub to PSA for their 80's special. Forgot how much money I wasted with them lol, pack fresh 80's cards that are centered getting 7's and 8's from CSG. I will update when they come back 9's & 10's from PSA and quadruple in value.

Hi I was curious as well after reading this and I searched the CSG forum and someone had asked this question and someone from CSG replied the following on 02/17/2022
Hello,

We do offer authenticate as a service. A submitter can request that CSG print “Authentic” in the grade box instead of a numeric grade as long as the card is authentic and not altered. The Authentic designation will also be used if a card is below the minimum size requirements. This is only used in certain circumstances and must be notated on their packing slip and with a sticky note on the semi-rigid card holder when sending in their submission. The final grade designation will be up to our graders. Let us know if you have any other questions.
Of course since the merger with CGC this could have change, but I would lean towards it still being something that can be done.

Thank you for your help - it sounds like they do, but I can’t find anywhere on their submission form where you can request to just authenticate and slab the card (doesn’t mean it’s not on there, I just haven’t been able to find it).

Yeah I don't believe you will find that option, but it sounds like you need to manually add text to the card(s) you want that for on your submission form. I also would add a sticky not, or something like that on the card(s) semi-rigid.

Thanks - I did reach out to them on Instagram and they said to bring the cards to the National and they’d be available to talk about it, so I’m guessing it’s an option.

Cool Story Bro!

Please come back and lie to boost your ego since you'll likely get 8s and below. Then you'll really know what its like to waste money.

Wonder if this is a back up for the ol favorite GRADE lol. Nobody is cracking any company and getting an PSA 9 and tripling their money any more. Most raw sell for more than a 9 now.

True because raw to grade is the new and most sensible play, if making money is the order of the day. More people would rather have a raw card than to buy a PSA 9 if it is not a thick card especially.

I'm trying to do a 3 card submission and my only return shipping options are $60 for Fedex Ground or $390 for Fedex overnight. Surely they're joking?!

Something must be off, I just did (for giggles) a test three card order and my options were $20 for FedEx Ground or $130 for overnight. I'm on the east coast though, are you on the west coast? Still seems high but not sure how they are doing the pricing to different zones.

No, I'm in Texas. It used to be about $16-20 flat. This is wild.

I just deleted it all and did it again. Still the same cost.

**Edit to Add**

My order was going to be one re-holder, one fresh grade, and one crossover.

I deleted everything except the re-holder and the cost went to $20.
I added the fresh grade and it went to $40.
I added the re-holder and it went to $60.

Seems pretty wild to compound shipping for each item, so I'm hoping this is just a glitch.

I think the calculator is messed up on their website. I would contact CGC about this. I see ground for $20 for up to $50,000 and it is valid up to a certain declared value. How much declared value for your three cards?
