So one more an he ties Brady for 8 straight AFC championship appearances. Crazy since he’s only played 8 years and Alex Smith was the starter year one. He’s well ahead of Brady. Curious if he and the chiefs organization can keep this up. Wonder how long Andy wants to coach? He’s about to be 67. Why retire when you have Mahomes?

Last 5 years have been #@#@#@#@. That's what I mean. Django Unchained, Inception, Get Out, Hateful Eight, Lone Survivor, The Dark Knight, The Departed, 10 cloverfield lane, saw all these movies and many more in the theaters and loved em. Have them on 4k and blu ray. I'm just talking about the last 4-5 years. Hollywood now makes #@#@#@#@ that appeals to the same people who like fake and scripted "competition" which is what the NFL has become. Just gross.

Fixed it for ya. Not even a lifetime of free nuggies will get him to leave his favorable situation.

I'm not a huge fan of any of those, so our tastes probably aren't similar, but based on those you didn't like Dune? Parasite? Once Upon a Time in Hollywood? Oppenheimer? Midsommar?

The only one i haven't seen is Parasite and Midsommar. OUTH and Oppenheimer were ok but not ones i'd revisit regularly. Saw some A24 movies and thought they were overrated.

The theater experience is just a tad below what it was before 2020. Just my opinion. But that's ok, i'm watching classics well before my time. Just watched The Ten Commandments the other day. Nobody today can pull off the way Heston and Yul Brynner and Anne Bexter played their roles. I find they had better stage presence than many of the gen z actors today. I'm watching Paths of Glory currently. There's no young Kirk Douglas today that pulls me in to a movie.

You like movies about gladiators? Have you ever seen a grown man naked?

Are you recommending Gladiator 2? No thanks, I heard it sucked. Loved the first one though.

Is that with Leslie Nielson? Nope haven't seen it. Is it on Tubi? That's my go to for older movies.

Yes and both his lines were from Airplane. Great older comedy if you like that kind of stuff. No clue what Tubi is but you can watch it on YouTube for free.

Yeah i'll check it out. Watched a ton of movies from the 70s lately. I'll queue it up in the next couple days.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Nothing they can do, it's why the great QBs take advantage of it. Allen in particular.

Should I be led to believe that Mahomes doesn't get that call if it was him instead of Daniels? Why is this not an isolated problem but instead a trend?
Yes they do. Mahomes literally didn't even get the call when he flopped. Allen gets UR calls all the time when he slides late, RTP after he embellished a hit after a throw. Daniels had a RTP last night.

Plenty of times this season where Mahomes had a foot OB, got hit, and no flag just like Daniels. I expected a flag each time and the flag did not come.

Was it rigged for DET when the refs called facemask on WAS when it was clearly not? It helped keep a drive alive and DET scored. Oh wait, was it rigged for WAS when no UR was called when Goff was rocked after his INT?

Refs miss stuff and the rules right now don't allow for video to help with every call. And even if replay can be used they will still get it wrong like the Schultz "catch" which helped the Texans in a game that you're saying was rigged against them lol.

Mahomes and KC tend to get favorable calls. It’s true for elite QBs and teams. It is what it is. I stop short of rigged. I do, however, think this excerpt has some teeth. The NFL has instructed refs to overly protect offenses (mainly QBs). Far too many drives are extended by an UR/RTP or a defensive holding. It feels like I’m praying for no flag on every 3rd down pass more than a true stop. This detracts some from the game. But will I keep watching? Yes. As will everyone else.

Next week will be a great test no matter the matchup.

These bail out calls just feel so cheap. And if I see it and many people, pros, fans, coaches and commentators are saying it, to me that actually hurts Mahomes legacy. Say he does end up with more rings than Brady, he becomes kind of a Bill Russell type because of the cheap calls and the crappy competition (Not saying Russell had cheap calls and bad competition) and Brady is the Jordan. They may very well be the narrative. Still a win for Mahomies and Russell is an all time great but it's a narrative less than what they would want i'm sure.

I'm on record for my thoughts on Mahome's future accomplishments. A viewpoint not shared by anybody else that I could recall. It's that he' going to win super bowl after super bowl after super bowl with the league's help and the soft qb competition, lack of actual field generals at qb in the league. That's why I bought a great collection of Mahome's cards. I see the writing on the wall. But truth be told my assertions are an indictment on the poor state the NFL is in today not because of his actual greatness per se.
Eyeroll.

There's literal data that proves your theory wrong.

Simple theory would be:

Do nfl fans think Brady got favorable calls?

Do KC/Mahomes fans think Brady got favorable calls?

Do Mahomes/KC fans think Mahomes gets favorable calls?

Answers should all be ‘yes’. Looks biased if the answers are: yes, yes and No.

Wow, riveting stuff. This thread is fantastic and always delivers. Great players get the benefit of calls? Yes, since forever. Carry on.

Yes to all.

Here is a video of Allen's flops though. He is the LeBron of the NFL.

Exactly, the NFL isn't rigged. The top echelon of QBs have always got a quicker whistle for protection. Running QBs get it less. Refs let them try to break free and treat them more like RBs. It is just the favored few - Brady, Mahomes, Manning, Rodgers. Players that more or less become the face of the league. Other teams just need to play through it.

No - the pilot said those lines. Leslie Nielsen was the doctor in Airplane “… and don’t call me Shirley.”

Why does "think" matter when data exists?

Perception doesn’t matter at all?

I’d be pretty confident Mahomes (and Allen) get calls.

Our bestest friend Delta provided data showing Mahomes gets way more RTP calls than Allen does if you do wanna go there..?
