Definitely one of the most underrated sets in the 90s era. I don't know why they're still "cheap" other than people haven't seen them in person because they're one of the best/most unique looking cards or there. Would kill for a Frank or Ray gold, even the backdoor copy. Great pickup.

(And I'm going to use this as an excuse to whore out my two)

Wow not use to seeing a PSA 10 on a 1999 Star Ruby!

I also picked up a 1999 SP Signature Gold Auto. I don’t have too many lower numbered Canseco cards other than his 1999 Essential Credentials Now. I am a sucker for Canseco, McGriff, and Boggs cards in the early Devil Rays uniforms.

99 Ultimate Victory was quite a set. It was retail only and had a great rookie checklist including one of the only few RC of Rick Ankiel. Other notable rookies were Soriano, Hudson, Beckett, and Pat Burrell. The parallels were simple and the rarest were numbered to 100 and 1. Condition was tough and so high graded ones are coveted.

Wow nice 10 on the Bags. I still have to send mine in to PSA, but have to crack it out of its BGS slab. Don’t expect a 10 like your, probably will go from a BGS 9.5 to a PSA 9

Since this is a page of them, I'll put this one here.

When you start collecting 90s inserts 30 years late, tough to play catch up but occasionally I get to snap one up ...

Thanks, it sure is - was thrilled just to see it surface let alone have a chance to pick it up

I have pictures on my eBay, but I found a Andruw Jones 1998 Skybox Thunder Rave /150 and a Adrian Beltre 1998 Stadium Club One of a Kind /150 in a collection I'm going through for a guy.

Beautiful card. One of the rare cards where the back might be more impressive than the front. If only Larkin had a card in the set. I'd be all over it.

The backs are cool. I actually feel the same way about the backs of Shining Stars Pulsars.

Mr. Viagra doesn’t appear to be in the 1997 set.
