Can you imagine a gem contenders in 20 years, or any Champ Ticket? Yikes.

I think this seller shorted himself. Never underestimate the jersey #'d cards.

2002 Topps TOM BRADY Super Bowl XXXVI Auto SB Ball #12/150 HIS JERSEY NUMBER

Rather have the Jersey #'d version or a GEM for almost double the price?

2002 Topps Super Bowl XXXVI MVP Tom Brady Auto BGS 9.5 1/1 Pop 1

Really wish I would have got one of these early on. Pretty iconic card IMO (non-rookie).

Me too, missed out. I'm surprised how low the other Topps Autos are, saw a PSA 10 on eBay for 2500 BIN just sitting there, not many of them around.

Awesome card. Love how they used one of the footballs from the SB. If Topps would have done one for each SB he won that would have created a nice chase set.

Did we ever decide on the black ink? Is it the first 50?

Pretty sure all 150 were blue ink. The ones with Black ink are just faded.

This card is my favorite Brady auto card. Just so well designed and the colors really make it pop. If I had 7.5k to blow right now I would pick up the raw one on eBay right now lol. The SB 36 logo was always my favorite of the 5.

can you take a photo in natural light and share with us?

do you notice the only autos that folks think are black have heavy fading. faded blue markers turn ocean blue then almost black before disappearing into thin air. i am 99.9% certain all 150 were signed in blue, including yours.

Not at this time, but I would be happy to.
When blue ink fades, it doesnt turn black. Similarly, if black ink fades, it begins to turn a greenish color.
This example is doing no such thing. It was a lousy used black pen.
Ive looked at it under a loupe, it was never blue.

EDIT: I may be able to take a pic with it outside tomorrow afternoon.
Ill post a pic when I do.

See, to me that #60 above looks straight black. The #3 comparison shows what lighting can do to make it look darker. The second is a "warmer" picture and this causes the blue to appear darker and less "cool"

yeah please do snap one in natural light when you are able. if it was indeed signed in black that would be very interesting to see which if any others were as well.

Nice stack of images.

Im just being honest BTW.. If I felt that it was actually blue at one point in time, I would say it.
I see no evidence of blue anywhere on the sig, under a 30x loupe.

Ive also looked online to determine what happens when blue and black ink fades, and blue doesnt turn black.
Thats not an opinion, its science.
So it supports my thoughts that this was just a lousy black pen that was on the table with other blue ones during the signing.

Ill reach out to Topps again and see if they can answer my question, as I did reach out maybe 2-3 weeks ago and requested information on it.

yeah, i absolutely will. I would like to know as well.
I have thought that perhaps the black pen was randomly used, and there are obviously far less of those than the blue, which would make my particular card a SSSP

but its the most faded of the whole post too. blue fades to black as time goes on. seek out other non 02 tb cards and you will see this.

Yea, I have no proof to back it up. This one sort of looks like its morphing mid black/blue.
