Whats going to be interesting with the Sanchez I think is. That you have a bunch of people who are going to flip it fast & cheap right away. Then you have the 2/3 week window before they get the card in hand. If Sanchez stays hot during that window the flippers trying to make $20.00 on their flips might be sorry they didnt wait to see how long the hot streak goes for. On the other hand, Topps will probably make another relic !

Both numbered to 10... you can buy this

or this

for $600

Does game date and 30 HR inscription add over $500 of value to a David Ortiz auto? Id say that Mint card is WAY better looking... and that price is 100x better for so many collectors.

By this logic are you saying a #1 Topps Now Francisco Liriano should not sell for more than a 2016 Francisco Liriano Heritage Mini /100?

Thats not the same, as the mini is a parallel where the Topps Now is the only card.

I agree on a #/10 card from any product should be the same as this.
All 10 cards are on sale at the same time where the ones in box form may not be all out of boxes for sale at the same time...

Because it's TOPPS NOW...not that other set. Might not be worth it to you or that run of the mill bosox fan but someone is going to want that Red 1/10 Ortiz autograph. I know I wanted it...it also looks much better then that $85 card.

Yea I wonder if/when Topps will cross that line. That would have been a great card. I want to see the Rally Mantis card.

Yea, I actually saw it on ESPN earlier and was convinced and ready to grab one!

I wonder what would hypothetically happen if Topps runs the relics to the ground and they don't sell out- do they still print 99? or do they just leave them up?

I snagged an Ortiz- I'm really hoping he inscribes all of the cards, would really be an awesome one to have!

I also grabbed a Sanchez, but really only because I'm a Yanks fan and am really digging the Card really being dedicated to the relic from the MLB Authentication to the Description on the Card (only cards that are really like this). I just wonder if Topps is saving these relics and is planning something else with it (not the cards, like the extra base pieces)- that could make values drop.

Since they are print to order or on demand, I don't think any extras would get made. I would hope they would destroy the remaining base material.

I'd guess its a contracted amount but I've seen game used bases for sale at ballparks from $300-1,000s depending on the game it was from.

Do you guys think having an Ortiz auto was planned/by design or do you think they failed getting a base? I know their margins aren't probably as good on those than the others!

I am leaning towards planned. Passing out the free auto's /10 for the ichiro/crawford just gave them an idea of how much $$ they were going to make and rewarded some customers possibly.
