Just finished my star chart for Bowman Draft.

Five stars = 5
Four stars = 15
Three stars = 27
Two stars = 18
One star = 11

I give this a B. Weaker crop than usual, and a few notable omissions. Most notably, no All America Autos (which were clearly shown on the solicitations). And guess whose visage was shown - Carter Kieboom, the invisible man.

At 24 Autos per Jumbo case, lots of color, hot packs/boxes (Black refractors), sets, singles, chromes, variations, some box toppers, etc.....it's still going to be safe with 75 autos....ideal, no....safe, I think so. imo

Someone help me out here... only following 17 Draft because the Angels had a high 1st round pick... anyways, typically how large/small are auto checklists for a draft product?

Agreed - the only positive thing that I saw was that they could have included even more pitchers. Scary thought, huh?

There were 56 last year, 60 the year before that.

If this is the beginning of Topps giving two-way players two cards each, this could very well mean guys like Greene and Ohtani will get two each as well in '18 Bowman.

Don't know about you guys, but I don't like that at all.

If one is an SP variation, this is not a bad thing. If they're separate card numbers, I agree with you.

Yeah, should be solid. All depends on the price you paid, really.

That would mean a 35% increase in production, which is crazy for a product like this. 2017 baseball was hot because of Judge\Bellinger and of course we werent expecting them to be in here. Nothing else has happened to have justified this increase.

I think you are right...but Im still hoping that somehow production wont actually be up 35%. That would mean guys signing less base cards of course.

And lastly, who ordered all this product if it is up 35%???

Ok, but again why would this year be any different than last? There was no real selling point for group breakers to suddenly go heavier this year. I'm just trying to wrap my head around 35%. Thats ALOT for a product like this.

Success and profit for group breakers from 2017 Bowman and 2017 Bowman Chrome. Even though BC was rough for most rippers, it is still pretty profitable for GB'ers. They are turning those profits into more pre-orders for 2017 Bowman Draft.

I would argue the "pretty profitable".

Most breakers made a killing on Bowman Chrome--especially on their initial allocations, which they most likely got pretty cheap. And like you said, they are most definitely buying a bunch of Draft (given their success with Chrome). And again, as you already said, that is what makes up the bulk of the higher demand this year.

Me too, that's high....If you told me 2018 Bowman was up 35%, that I may believe, but 35% for Draft is a very very high number.

Case breakers? Remember how many 2/5/10/15 case breaks we were seeing for 2017 bowman chrome? Also I believe it was the 1 SJ case for 3 J cases ordered for draft and since the deadline for distributor pre-orders was in Late-July I think that means that they were ordering this before they calculated the print run obviously. I'm guessing that means people ordered tons of Jumbo to get a decent amount of Super-Jumbo. Could this mean that the prices on Jumbo fall and Super Jumbo goes up?

Honestly group breaking at this point is a huge cash cow. I’m seeing people making upwards of 300-500 a case. Why aren’t we all running group breaks?

For those that think Riley Mahan is a low-level talent. PM me for a place to send his autos.
