Only thing that could ruin the value of the 582 Club is if they continue to open a bunch more memberships each year. At some point, it'll be no different than having purchases open to the general public. It works because it's exclusive and limits the competition for online buys.

Now that being said, if all 582 members continue to be GUARANTEED pre-order opportunitites, then sure go ahead and open it up!

I've gotten my $200 renewal charge back easily. I made money in year 1 as well.

But since the renewal I flipped my Draft Sapphire boxes for profit, sold my Bowman Sapphire for triple what I paid for them and have moved not all of the sets yet.

I'm way ahead of the $200 investment just on the presale stuff I have chosen to bought, I haven't got it all, but the exclusivity and bot world we live in make the window to buy one day early worth the club membership

It definitely appears your experience is similar to a lot of MC members, which means your ROI has been out of this world.

My one big regret was buying 2 boxes of the Brooklyn Collection and ripping my 2 boxes of Bowman Heritage - the losses from those items and the cost of the membership fee was over $500 in total, and I'm still ahead with more to come (hopefully).

Is the membership limited or only begins at a certain time?

Year one was crazy expensive, year two was affordable I thought, I was happy with it. I didn't buy it year one

Topps will definitely be raising the price next year. They could easily charge $1,000 +, I'm still in lol

I don’t think they’ll raise it too much. Brand loyalty is important. And even when you have your consumer base by the balls, you don’t want to piss them off. I could see $300-$350 for a renewal and $400 for a new membership.

Oh, I see. Your regret was in not buying more. When I first read it, it looked like you were saying you regret buying it period because it didn't have a good ROI.

I literally don't know anything that's happened pre-COVID, when it comes to Topps releases.

It's had 2 iterations - 2018 was really high end stuff, $1000/box for 5 autographed cards (I wasn't a member then). 2019 was only $200, but it was 2 autographs and 5 other cards. Guys like Acuna, Ohtani, Judge, Carew, Fisk, Koufax, etc. Only available to MC members.

After receiving all of the amazing benefits this year, I'm still hesitant for next year for fear that Topps raises the price and number of memberships significantly. Realistically, market value for this year's membership is between $1000-$1500. If they raise prices to anywhere near that range and can't figure out a way to guarantee members their perks, the value will quickly dissappear. It was always a no-brainer this year when they announced early access.

The average collector is being run out of every aspect of this hobby. If this comes to fruition, then another nail has been driven into this hobby for many.

Thank you!

Recent sells of the '19 were around $260. What were they going for during the release?

Wrong guy I had one decent box but the second was a clunker, but those are the chances we take. I'd probably buy again next year just because I like the gamble, but in hindsight it dug me a deeper hole since those were the first purchases available to MC members. Can't complain too much, though, because the subsequent pre-sale stuff has more than covered those losses.

I don't really remember because I was definitely going to rip them. But I don't think they doubled or tripled like the Sapphire stuff has done...

Ah, haha, I see what I did there. Looking at CC, it looks like a cool release, that definitely came with a gamble.

Bounty of $100 per box. Not BO but another online buyer.
