Part of the first name is in two parts which I've never seen him do before. It's just one continuous flow. So I'd say fake. Not saying the seller did it or even knew but it doesn't look real to me either way.

Cheaper version. A lot of new money come in and it's going towards Trout. They don't know the difference really between the two but see one is cheaper so they go with that.

Still lots of room on colored Finest too — both auto and non auto versions.

I think we will see a bigger jump in 2011 Finest Gold Refractor Auto prices. 2009 BC Gold Refractor price is currently around $90K, which is out of reach for most collectors and they will flock towards the 2011 Finest Gold Refractor Auto since they are more affordable.

Not saying I disagree about them going up but they still are $6000+ and it's not a stretch to say that the people who can afford that can also afford 90K. Really two different type of cards too. One is his first card and auto, the other is just a RC auto. 2011 Bowman didn't have a Trout auto so people will go towards the next best thing which is Finest in Trout's case. First card auto Bowmans and RC Bowmans always have a big gap. Just Finest is in Bowman's place for Trout.

Need to cash out a bit on Trout. I have 2, 2011 Topps Update PSA 10's and a 2011 Bowman Chrome Draft Refractor BGS 9.5 true gem+.

Interested in opinions on selling one of the Updates for ~$1,000 or the BCD for ~$700...

I would sell the Draft. I hate that card. Ugly picture, from a set that no longer does RCs, and his second Bowman Chrome card in 2011. I’m surprised it sells for as much as it does.

I just picked this one up yesterday in a collection. It’s off to Beckett today for the 2 day service. Centering will hurt a little but everything else is perfect.

Do you think that's high? I've actually been surprised at the lack of movement on the Finest non-autos compared to the autos. I bought an orange 9.5 over a year ago for something like $1,050, and if IIRC I think that was a little under market value at the time. I feel like the non-autos have stayed pretty stagnant while the autos have gone up 300 - 400% in that time. I think it's only a matter of time before the non-autos catch up, but I could be wrong.

Very Nice! I can only imagine you will be making a nice chunk of change from that deal!
Personally, I would sell that one immediately when you get it back - and put it all into a different Trout. I don’t like the Finest Xfrac.

Don’t get me wrong, I would be doing cart wheels being able to buy this as part of a collection, but once it’s graded I would be looking to sell and acquire another big dog.

I hope you get a 9.5!

I would agree that it's better to sell the BGS than the PSA because PSA is always more demand. However, since your BGS card is a true gem+ I would try to get as close to PSA pricing as possible. There's a very good chance that card will crossover to a PSA 10 and a lot of buyers will be looking to cross it over. Make them pay for it.

Thanks. I have a shop, and to be honest, I have no interest in keeping it. I will sell it and move on to the next thing. I am not a huge fan of the Xfractor either, but I got the collection at a price I could make a little money on, so I am happy to get it.

That makes total sense. I’m sure it will go fast.

I don’t think that’s too high — definitely fair. To have less than 100 Oranges out there, I think it’s a good price and Finest is still the lowest priced rookie (as it should be), but with the movement on his other rookies Finest is bound to follow suit.

Can’t go wrong with 09 or 11 colors and serial numbers, period.

Yeah, that's probably the smart way to do it, but I have a reeeeally hard time selling anything Trout. In the last 3 years I think I could count on 2 hands the number of Trout cards I've sold.

Thanks for the advice gents. This was also on my mind. I'd love a Diamond Anny Trout. Which one Trout would you pick up for $2k?
