I want to submit another bulk order but I don't want to wait 2 months. CGC needs to fix these turnaround times to stay competitive. I can get my cards back fast with PSA at $6 per card more and a ton more ROI.

I submitted a card at the economy level which is 30 business days for $15. My card arrived on Monday and has not been logged into the CGC system yet. I texted the service number and they said not to worry it can take 7-10 days before they open the package and put it into their system as received. Taking over a week to get my card in the system seems very slow, this is my first order with them so I am curious how the process will go.

FWIW, my first CGC order of 10 cards at economy is now scheduled for grading, but it took about that 7-10 day range for it to be put into the system after it was delivered.

It really is random how they receive submissions. I had an economy sub delivered per USPS on Monday 2/12 and CGC marked as received on Friday 2/16, so just four days on mine.

Submitted a smaller 25 card order. Will probably do another one next week. The $9.60 price point is a big difference.

Yup, I love the price point compared to competitors and best slab.

While it may not be a big increase, might be some anti-psa guys who come over to CGC with the SGC sale to PSA.

I presume it wont hurt CGC as much as it will help it.

If CGC was smart, they will back channeling some of the SGC graders. Get CGC to up their game in vintage grading. Make a push to get all those anti-psa guys over to CGC as well. Maybe a not so obvious cross-over special.

I was thinking the same thing, a SGC crossover special. That would be extremely smart. Lots of SGC people could be persuaded to move on.

Interesting thought, but CGC would have to poach SGC's head grader to gain the respect needed to lure current SGC faithful to CGC.Doubtful that happens.PSA would have anticipated a move by either CGC or beckett to do that, most likely some sort of agreement has been made with SGC/PSA as part of the buy out.

99% of people that grade with SGC couldn't name one grader on their staff, including the head graders.

There are graders at both companies under non-competes. When you start trying to work around non-competes to hire from a competitor while simultaneously attempting to enforce non-competes to prevent competitors from hiring staff, things get messy, real quick.

The price point is why I submit some lower end vintage to CGC, things that probably aren't worth sending to other companies but i still want slabbed. Personally, I like how they grade vintage. I think it's more consistent than the others. I have a 70 card order sitting here but I haven't sent it off yet.

Just got an email that reholders are back down to $5.00 permanently. I like that.

Looks like they reduced time estimates. 20 days for Economy and 40 days for Bulk.

I sent in two orders on 2/14, one for grading and one for reslab. I got the grading order back on 3/1 and the reslab back on 3/6.

It was my first time grading with them directly, and the turnaround time was much faster than I expected. I can’t say that I’m a fan of them sending it back via FedEx with no ability to reroute or hold for pickup though.

Edit: They also really need to make an app.

The last time I used them I thought I rerouted my order to the FedEx pickup at my Dollar General 2 miles from my house.

I grade a lot with PSA and alway reroute orders so that I can pick them up instead of rolling the dice on being there when FedEx arrives. I was surprised that the option wasn’t available with CGC too. I actually called their customer service and they confirmed that the option to reroute wasn’t available. They told me that if the order ended up being returned to them, they could change the address to my PO Box.

The way around this is to change your ship to address when you submit to a local FedEx office.

I had the no reroute problem on my first order when I started grading with them again. I have had all my subsequent orders shipped to a local FedEx office by inputting their address when I fill out the submission form. This has worked flawlessly so far. It goes straight to them and they hold for pickup.

I will definitely do this on the order I am filling out to my shipping place. That is smart because more times than not I am not home.

CGC really needs to do a better job tracking credits for their memberships. Second time in a row they didn't apply credit properly.
