I'm in the movie business and when there's a true turkey the studio will not preview it to critics before the Friday release.

See Siff card today.

mwheeler27's website is https://wheelercollections.com. The rewards program is impressive to say the least.

My apologies if linking external websites is verboten here.

Big Mac. Big Hurt.

The Big Hurt these days is anybody collecting Siff (who basically started out like Tom Brady).

"Ouch!" is right.

I grabbed the Gold being potentially his only companion. I'm trying to get one of the higher-end pieces from each artist to display together.

It seems like really easy money to begin with--just being an agent in a Mike Trout money printing operation, that is--I'd happily wait until I delivered my product to get paid for the privilege.

Aw, you edited your post before I could add, "OUCH."

What is your PEA (post edit average)?

You're right! That was a fastball without movement coming right down the middle of the plate. Had to swing.

Siff's season OPS has now caved to .972 after this horrendous slump.

That's still pretty darn good! As is his Thomas--best one yet IMO. Though it's probably one of my 4-5 least favorite originals in the set.

(pre "submit" correction: Shore has the best Thomas so far)

I just generally love Siff's style. I may not love his last two as much as his first three, but the Yankees are where he slumped in my book.

Feel like Siff started out in the fine art category and has tried to hit the popular crowd with some references.

Thought the colors in the Thomas would lend itself to a ‘Brett’ inspiration.

Yeah, he's gone from being Babe Ruth to Bryce Harper. (Actually Harper is so erratic HE goes from being Babe Ruth to Mario Mendoza.)

Gregory Siff's Thomas hearkens back to his George Brett for sure.

If you zoom in on it you can really see the brush strokes. Love this card.

I love brush strokes... especially Van Gogh where it's so thick it's almost like a sculpture on canvas. The door knob shakers are always telling me to stand back--stand BACK at the art museums because I have to get real close. The trouble is that on these little trading cards it's hard to see the strokes on the actual card like you can enlarging a jpeg on your monitor.

Brush strokes are more impressive at 25" x 35" that at 2.5" x 3.5".

This is certainly his most Brett-esque offering since Brett while also having much in common with his more recent releases.

Siffdot special today!

With my Ripken card, I wanted to emanate his legendary spirit through his modified I-Beam bat, with my abstraction of the old school Orioles logo perched by his side.

--

As you may know, Cal Ripken Jr. was nicknamed “Iron Man” for breaking the record in consecutive games played.

The day he broke Lou Gehrig's record of 2130, the new record “2131” was displayed along the facade of Camden Yards Stadium. I wanted to pay tribute to this legendary moment & player.

Too many little things in the Siff card like his Gibson (which I still find to be his worst of the set). The colors in the Thomas helps to obscure them at least. I can see myself eventually selling all my Siff if every card has a bunch of additional smaller pop art images within them.

I skate and I like art, yet skateboard art just isn’t for me. I came close to getting a set of 3 decks for my daughter’s room, but ultimately passed. Just doesn’t do it for me anymore.

Back when I used to skate I would hang my decks after I retired them. Solely as art I would agree: give me art, straight up.

But I love that deck design.
