Finally got around to completing the 1996 Stadium Club Extreme Players run. Here are all 3 Extreme Players redemption cards (bronze, silver, and gold) along with all 3 Extreme Winners prizes.

The last photo is the back of the redemption cards explaining the contest.

Having the redemptions for this sort of thing is a must! Not sure why more people don't understand this.

Here's a little writeup I did recently, and thought this would be the perfect spot for it!

I’ve been asked this quite a bit recently, and I decided to put together a “Fabulous Five” list of top 90s cards for my guy Canseco – this list is subjective, of course, but is based upon my personal tracking, and countless interactions with other collectors over the past several years.

These cards all possess a perfect storm of desirability, beauty, and rarity, while being hunted by:

– player collectors
– 90s collectors
– Set collectors

They were created during the playing days of Canseco, and in a time when competition amongst card companies was fierce.

Given the larger pool of buyers, they oftentimes significantly outperform 1/1s by a longshot. Listen to owners of these cards and owners of newer 1/1s. The conversation typically starts with “I have THE 98 Crusade Red of (player name)” vs. “I have A bat barrel of (player name).”

Keep in mind, you will drop my jaw with the Crusade Red or barrel, but that gives you a good idea of the esteem these 90s cards are held. Many new to the hobby will scratch their heads at this notion … c’mon … these 90s cards don’t even have ANY relics or autographs!!! How can they be *that* desirable … and more desirable to many than the newer premium relic 1/1 cards?!

For those unsure of these cards, here is a rundown of them:

1996 Select Certified Mirror Gold (print run 30)
1997 Pinnacle Totally Certified Platinum Gold (/30)
1998 Donruss Crusade Red (/25)
1998 Metal Universe Precious Metal Gems PMG (/50)
1999 Fleer Brilliants 24-Karat Gold (/24)

I could probably write a book on each of these cards. They are not just rare; they are exceedingly beautiful, and do not change hands often. When they do, get your popcorn ready!

Thanks , it’s definitely a process. That may or may not be my best stuff. I’ll take the time to do some more digging. I guess it depends on which players you like. And if we could just have unlimited funds.

1995 Z-Team Ripken & Maddux PSA 10. All others are PSA 9. This used to be The number 1 set in PSA’s registry for a few years. Then last year or so I let my guard down and someone passed me. Congrats to them.
The cards aren’t /25 but the complete set in this condition is rare.
The individual cards have less than 50 total grades each and Griffey coming in with 125 graded examples.

Btw great jersey match on the Jeter! Any jersey match is a tough hit/find.

Nice Z-team collection. Pinnacle produced some decent looking cards.

Picked this Griffey up recently, which was also from a Pinnacle brand:

THEY GAVE MY JETER A 6?!!??! How dare they! That sucker was pulled by me and went straight into a sleeve & top loader. I guess Fleer didn't help anyone by making the back of the card black. I can guarantee you it's full size though, look how much space it takes up in that PSA slab. It should get some sort of special sticker for not being trimmed.

Sure looks better than a 6 from here. I’ve seen more white on back corners and edges on PSA 10s. Crazy.

PSA has 9 1998 Ken Griffey Jr. PMGs graded.

How many are still left sitting in boxes?

More likely in three ring binders or the garbage/lost to time.

I keep learning new things about the 90's every day. I have a few 1997 Pinnacle Stand & Deliver insert sets that I know nothing about and realized that there were 3 variations, a silver, gold /225 and then red letter /25. I then ran into a few Pinnacle Diamond Inserts where a more scarce "diamond" version was created. An actual small diamond glued to the front. I believe I've seen one in all the inserts that I have.

Frank doesn't get enough respect from collectors. His prices align more with second rate guys from the 90's.
