Yes, this. Some posters earlier in the thread were questioning the decision to release the Jackass set first, but the set was released in tandem with the new movie, Jackass Forever, and in terms of trying to tap into that buzz, the timing makes all the sense in the world.

I have to say, I thought they did a quality job with the Jackass set, so I'm excited they have some promising stuff in the pipeline. I'm bummed that it means we probably won't get the UD Chasing Amy set, as I've been waiting for that forever, but c'est la vie.

I'm not sure that the Clerks III licensing will impact the UD Chasing Amy set -- I've been waiting for it forever too. . . If it doesn't get made it is all on UD IMHO.

Surprised that all 3 of these announcements are rehashes of licenses that other manufacturers have taken a crack at. I thought ZC was trying to be new and different.

Also is there really demand for a Dune set? I realize it has a cult following, but I am not convinced anyone is looking for a Dune set. The last Dune set didn't do very well. No one I know watched the new Dune movie.

Crypto gave up, but Rick and Morty has an absolutely stellar guest/voice actor checklist that's crazy deep at this point... just sayin'. Maybe could even get creative sketches again, instead of endless 'same pose' with no background from 200 participants.

Starting to see some of the Stranger Things promo cards hit eBay. Wondering at what price should I buy some? I think $100 per card is obviously a bit ridiculous.

This article shows the art for the Clerks and Dune sets in one of its photos.

Give it at least the weekend before they start flooding the market. I have to imagine they printed a LOT that will be distributed between now and Sunday.

Anyone able to cobble together a full checklist for the ST promos? They are nice looking cards.

No issue with that. Just weird to announce the set 16 months ahead of time. Should we only expect Stranger Things, Clerks, and I’m sure another garbage Gary Vee set in the interim?

Technically a lot of sets coming out now were announced 16 months ago.

They're inserting redemptions for Stranger Things boxes in those promos so I'd be willing to bet that the set will be out by year end.

Nothing ventured…. Nothing gained. And maybe you will get a free box redemption!

Why do the stranger things cards look like the toppsseason 1. In the press release they will have designs from 80’s baseball cards again, can’t wait for zero cool to reuse 87 topps design again.”

That’s another reason I hope Fanatics/Topps eventually gets a crack at the Marvel license. I’d like to see. Deadpool Sportball type Marvel set using various Topps baseball base templates over the years.

I really liked the 77 template

Kevin Smith is doing a livestream with Zerocool tomorrow at 4:30. Maybe he can answer whether or not the Chasing Amy set is dead.

I think the comment around the Dune set was more so the fact that they announced 3 sets total and one of them is 16months away, which seems lacking a little lacking in overall releases

Announcing sets way in advance seems to be a major departure from their previous strategy.

They probably weren't super happy with the Jackass performance. I don't think any collectors really liked the blitzkrieg of announcement followed by release within what, a week? It was quick.

I was searching for the new ZC cards on eBay and noticed something interesting.

Right now there are 1,700 Jackass auctions, but here are 2,700 VeeFriends auctions. This is very striking considering they only made 10,000 VF cards, but made half a million Jackass cards.

I think there is A LOT of Jackass product still sealed -- I'm guessing after VF blew up (probably due to NFT people buying 'em up) breakers and others got FOMO.

I think it will be hard to convince sports card collectors to buy entertainment products (except perhaps to try to flip), and the marketing / sales strategy is alienating / ignoring a lot of entertainment card collectors.

I could be entirely wrong. . . Jackass cards might not be getting posted for sale because they were all bought up by people collecting Jackass cards, while VF might have been bought up by flippers. . . but based on what I am seeing posted on forums that doesn't seem to be the case.

I don’t know… I would think if there was FOMO influencing Jackass orders it would be reflected in its Dutch auction hammer price. However, the price came in low (at $101) which was even lower than Zerocool’s projections (per their post-auction written summary) so that suggests FOMO wasn’t driving that release.

And as you pointed out earlier… they are doing a better job of promotion now to avoid another Jackass scenario. Early hype for Stranger Things seems strong and I doubt it comes in very cheaply…. We will see if they print a ton though.

I’d buy a few Jackass boxes at $100 per but people still seem to want $150+ for them.

I’m curious as to what the strike price will be for ST. If it’s one auto per box and the list is strong, I could see $200+ for them.
