Ditto and same for Bubs. I just want the Tigers to win it all but the way the Dodgers & Yankees are building dynasties it’s much tougher than in 68 & 84.

I've been saying for years Manning could be a great 1 inning reliever. I'd like to see the organization use him that way.

Just bring Foley back up. He's been unhittable in Toledo. It's pointless for him to be down there.

When do we start to believing in Javy Bozo? He's played his best in the past when his teams were in contention. Last year was a fluke out of nowhere but this year has been from the start.

.377 BABIP is unsustainable, but if you told me he'll hit .260/.300/.400 (which may actually be plausible) I think it pushes Sweeney to the bench when everyone is healthy.

I'm not sure about when, but I will admit I want to believe in him turning it around. Hate his contract and don't think he's worth it, but I did gain some respect for him for his willingness to play CF.

Was surprised that he was the leader in RBI’s for a season with the Cubs but he had a ton of opportunities with a sheepish RISP BA. Detroit “I want to milk the last ounce of baseball in you”.

Why small samples are pointless to hang your hat on example #310192:

Riley Greene after 4/22 .217/.265/.359
Riley Greene this morning .276/.324/.504

In less than 2 weeks he raised his OPS 200 points.

No doubt, now for the season he has increased to a BA RISP of .216 & a High Leverage BA of .227. If Detroit does reach the playoffs, they will need more than a 1-11 with men on base or 1-6 RISP from Riley or his small sample size will not grow much bigger. Sample sizes increase with better production, 1 Run & 1 RBI in 7 playoff games batting in the heart of the order.

I don’t expect a Miggy like playoff performance with Detroit but something in between would be great. Miggy Men On Base 22-56 “.393” with 12 BB, 2 HBP & 3 ROE’s therefore safe on base 39 out of 69 times “.565” in playoffs for Detroit. Miggy RISP 13-25 “.520” with 9 BB, 1 HBP, 2 ROE’s therefore safe on base 25-35 times “.714” in playoffs. Miggy 2 out RISP 7-11 “.636” with 6 BB, 1 ROE therefore safe on base 14-18 times “.778”. Definition of CLUTCH ^ !

Forgot to mention, Infante was on the Royals 2015 World Series team and played in 124 games are but after having a 7 RBI game he was injured in the Royals 147th game vs Detroit and was out for the year. No 4th WS but received a ring. Good for Infante.

I don't see it with Jace Jung. 45 career games now with zero home runs and five doubles.

I still can't believe Bregman didn't take Detroit's offer. He's playing amazing so far too. This team would be in cruise control with him.

And before one of you bozos says it's because of Fenway, he's hitting the same on the road as he is at home so far.

We don’t have a R. Devers in the lineup. Until last season the Tigers have been abysmal at keeping it’s pitching staff healthy for many years. Bregman put more faith in Boston. He would have been a huge pickup.

During the Mike I. era, Red Wings & Tigers, he was the closer when it came to contracts. As Detroit fans, we were extremely fortunate to have a owner with his willingness to win. Many times it comes from the top.

Your ability to want to give up on anyone after such a little sample is bizarre.

What a world the Tigers are starting to run into now with too many good players.

Meadows/Vierling both come back who is the odd man out with Sweeney vs Baez? (or are both playing and it's Vierling?)

Since Hinch likes to play all his position players as frequently as possible, I suspect that Vierling would get regular time split between 3B/OF and Meadows would get platoon ABs in CF against righties. Jung gets sent down so he can get regular ABs. I'm guessing Malloy gets sent down as well. Keep running Baez out there until the magic runs out and he reverts to prior form.

Heck even at Catcher, do you hand the starting gig back to Rogers with the way Dingler is playing? Nido has been pretty good too.

I personally would knowing Dingler's .380 BABIP isn't at all sustainable and Rogers is a better defensive catcher, but we have lots of terrific first world problems right now!

Ride the Baez gravy train as long as it lasts. He deserves credit for willingly going to center this season and performing, especially when you see what that dickhead Devers is doing in Boston.

I was against the idea (along with the rest of MLB) over the winter of trading for Arenado. Assuming it wouldn't take much, I'd be open to it now, especially if STL ate a little salary, just to get some baseline competence at third base. Even if they didn't, he's only making $31 million the next two seasons.

He's clearly on the decline but I wonder if being on a team that could make a legit run to the World Series would give him a little juice. He's only played in eight career postseason games.

It's not sustainable, but McKinstry has been great so far, Vierling is coming back, Javy will play some 3rd when Meadows is back. Don't think they need to waste a roster spot.

I like having those guys as depth versus relying on them. They could pace Arenado too as well as Javy with everybody healthy so they don't have to play every game.
