This is Luka's longest consecutive games missed with injuries but I again question how much of that has to do with the team working on a trade for him for the past month. 12 games he missed were rest, 5 were covid health and safety protocols so subtract 17 from that total. Most of his injuries have been 1-2 game absences and a couple 5-7 games. He's missed 19 games with current injury but let's say it would have been 5 games if he they weren't working out a deal and then so subtract 14 so now you we subtract 31 from that total and he's really missed 82 because of various injuries. But all we can do is wait and see. If he is a guy that consistently plays around 70 regular season games and all of the post season games it's no big deal. If he truly turns in Embiid and his next contract is one of the worst in history then the Mavs were geniuses. I'm a C's fan so I should be rooting for the Embiid outcome but he's one of my favorite players to watch to I'll hope I we get another 10+ years of him being great.
If you asked me after the 21-22 season if I would have some concern about SGA's health, I would have said yes.

But he's since had 2 1/2 straight years of being increasingly health, so the trend is his friend. Luka on the other hand, is having the most injury prone season thus far, and a team just traded him away in part because of it.

I hope he does start playing 70+ year, but whether you like it or not, there are people that are concerned and this week's actions proved it.

Fine, but I still think the statue outside Staples is a strong possibility.

I feel like this is a great trade for Dirk collectors.

I grew to be a Mavs fan with the Don Nelson trio of Dirk, Nash and Michael Finley, that was a fun team to watch in the early 2000's. I stuck by with all the ineptitude, favoritism by officials in the 2006 Finals, heartbreak of the 67 win season going up in smoke thanks to Baron Davis, watching the Mavs always be decent but not great and the elation of the 2011 squad being a collection of old guys and misfits absolute blue ball LeBron and the Heatles.

Watching Dirk's career wind down was tough and I wasn't sure if the Mavs would ever be worth watching again. Getting spurned by multiple Free Agents pass the Mavs over always hurt too. Then the 2018 draft happened and I was surprised they were able to swing that trade for a Slovenian player I wasn't terribly familiar with, but once I saw Luka play consistently, I knew he was going to be great. The slow build of the Mavs has been awesome to witness with him there being the focal point. As much as his flopping, whining to the refs and poor conditioning/defense did rankle me, his brilliance on the other side of the court was hard to even describe. I was kind of surprised by the Kyrie trade but I understood it given the relative low risk it really was at the time and they've unlocked the focused Kyrie. Getting Lively was a rare great draft pick for the Mavs in the years I've watched them.

The Finals run was a thing of beauty this last season. Watching the trade acquisitions add an edge to the team made them even more fun to watch. Luka feeding Gafford on easy dunks was a bit of a throwback. It was tough watching them be completely unable to score in the Finals against Boston, but I was sure this team was going to be ascendant in the coming years.

Now? I am gutted. I am going to refrain from posting how I really feel because it just isn't worth the angst or ban.

Mavs refunding season ticket holders who cancelled their plans for the rest of the season. LOL.

What if the Mavs finish strong with AD? They're only 26-25 right now -- I could see them being rejuvenated by the trade.

Huge miss by Panini for not making an Instant card of this deal.

Hopefully Luka and AD do a jersey swap and Panini makes a card of that.

First year licensed Topps Chrome will have Luka in Lakers uniform, would have been more awesome if this trade happened in the summer, making it 1st year Topps Chrome and 1st year Luka Lakers.

Lakers vs Celtics era is back? Luka vs Tatum rivalry for the next +5 years

It will be even funnier when the Mavs go deep in the playoffs with AD and those ex-season ticket holders are watching it on TV.

I would guess those season ticket holders would still be angry even if the Mavs win this year AND next year...

Ppl get emotionally attached to players.

Even if the Mavs win the chip this year or next, a lot of fans will still feel like Nico ripped their beloved Luka away from them. Especially if Luka has any kind of success with the Lakers.

Dallas continues to impress post Luka trade. They beat the 2nd place Celtics and just took care of the 4th place 32-20 Rockets. AD with 26 points, 16 rebounds, 7 assists, and 3 blocks.

This team looks really well balanced. AD will be great. Klay and Kyrie need to shoot well and this team could still make the finals.

I really hope it wasn't one of his fingernails. They've been holding him back for a decade.

I'd love to collect AD, but he's so soft. Although imagine they win a title and he's FMVP?

According to AD it was an abdominal muscle spasm and nothing serious. With AD on court, the Mavs were dominant and might become the scariest team in the West once they hit the playoffs.
