Would be awesome if they forgot to include them in the silver packs also.

Curious what the odds will be. Throwing out 1:5 just to see where this might land
95000 hobby boxes were printed 1 silver pack per box 1:5 packs for SP would = 19000 extended base SPs 19000 / 5 players = 3800 extended base SPs per player Idk, I don't think these are going to be short printed into the hundreds or even low 1000s |

Topps actually made this situation worse. They opened another door, for another scandal.

That letter is a classic. When your subcontractor craps the bed making your product, you don’t “reach out” to them. Sorry, not sorry, that’s totally clutching pearls on the bingo card of how not to say ‘we fuct this up’

It's unbelievable how many people read "randomly inserted in these packs" as packs with the SP cards in them making them base cards and worthless now...
I hate to say it but what was Topps supposed to do? Hopefully many of the breakers and resellers do the right thing as well and give the packs to their customers but I wouldn't be surprised if many of them keep them and sell them to profit. |

Question on my mind: is this starting to make people feel BB21 was an error? Or are we still thinking all of these issues are pure Topps employee conspiracy to steal our $$ and trash Fanatics???

Errors for sure IMO. There should be checks and balances keeping an employee from going rogue... "should" lol

So that's what I was wondering. I find it hard to believe they had sheets of these sitting around in the factor. Also, as an aside, way to blame the 3rd party topps. The fact that the jumbos were bricked means they were packed long ago they had to know they had no sps. If the rest of the sps were inserted into later production runs then there wouldn't be a bunch sitting around for silver packs.

Realbreaks should be anything but praised.
After knowing of the problem, they continued to price their breaks at levels as if the cards were still there, and as the pricing on cases dropped, their breaks didn't drop with it. When someone 48 hours ago asked for their response to the SP situation, the post was removed from their facebook page (unless facebook hid it like they've done several times on my timeline because facebook is awful). Realbreaks is trying to look like the good guy here, but they were scrambling to make as much as they could off chrome when they realized the cards weren't in there, and never touched the subject until now. |

You guys asked for more base and you are going to get it!
These are going to hold very little value when said and done. My prediction is high 5 or low 6 figure production of each. |

I doubt the subcontractor messed up. Topps/Fanatics probably came up with the idea for sp rookies after the first batch was already packed and cased up. They're throwing them under the bus instead of owning it.

This program has killed the potential value of these sp cards, sorry!

Looks like hobby and and hobby cases pulled from the Topps site for now (but not listed as sold out)? I only see value and hobby lite.

Just goes to show topps was banking on their wander money train for this product. These late additions were added when they realized the value wasn’t there based on the floods of preorders they got.

You can assume almost all these sp cards will reach circulation, and some people will have huge lots of them. This wouldn’t be possible if the sp were tucked away in sealed hobby and jumbo boxes deeply stowed away in warehouses. |

I believe Topps was trying to appease the collector's and get the highly sought after rookies into TC. It backfired and has turned into quite the mess. Perhaps it would have been better to not have the ESPs in the product at all and save for TCU. The logistical challenges of trying to get the early call ups into a highly produced product.
