It was the first show my daughters boyfriend had ever been too and he had a blast finding all the $1 boxes and stockpiling on Acuna and other Braves.

Those shows are great, and another guy has been doing shows in Scottsboro for seven years. Always big turnouts and free admission.

The young artists market sounds just like what happened to sports cards since 2020. Many were in denial.
You must be a miserable person to be sitting at your computer all day and typing out as many posts as you do, all of them claiming sports cards are so horrible. Get a life.

Andujar?

You may have paid too much, but I appreciate the commitment to collecting hard.

Are most other card shows heavy on the Pokémon side? I went to the Madison WI card show yesterday which keeps growing in size (200 tables currently) but i'd swear at least 1/2 these tables are Pokemon

I was in Honolulu last weekend and it was mostly pokemon. Spent I think 300 bucks to fly there and spent 25 bucks at the show, mostly a couple 52 Topps commons. It was a 100 table show.

Went to a South Bend show that use to be held in the Mall back in 06’ish. The show was held in a facility that the Mall can only pray to have as many spending customers going through it

Anyone else getting a lot more unsolicited offers on ebay from items they viewed? Sellers looking a little desperate lately. The sh.tcoin market must be down or something.

Burbank Card Show had 75/25 split Sports/Non-Sports in Anaheim. Good selection of Vintage and about the only chance in SoCal to see a good selection of high end Vintage. No other show (other than the Ontario show) has much in the way of Vintage.

My annual Philly Show observations Day 2 (Saturday):

Arrived around 10 am. Was surprised at the lack of people in attendance. This year they expanded to another hall which seemed to ease congestion in the main selling hall. Still foot traffic appeared to be noticeably down.

Ohtani, Judge and Mahomes seemed to be cards everyone wanted to buy. Saw a $25k cash transaction for several Downtowns and Kabooms. That was interesting.

Spent several hours browsing and most of the dealers commented that they didn’t have many sales. Most were willing to work deals on multiple cards and discounts below comps were common.

Took me about 6 hours to find a Fleer Jordan rookie sticker, which is what I came to buy. Patience paid off.

Overall, another great show from a buyers prospective. Would be interested to hear from a dealers prospective.

Default Observations on the current state of the hobby from a show this weekend

My friend who solely deals in medium-to-high grade HOF 1950-1980s cards said this is the best Philly show he has ever had

He said that before the show closed on Friday.
