Never said to keep schools closed - as a damn parent and AMERICAN - we deserve the truth from our elected officials and we have been lied to about this virus from day one - by the POTUS.
You're so blinded by TDS that you can't think rationally. Trump wanted schools open. They absolutely should have opened. Where do you disagree?

I made an error. In the end, do you expect to be shot walking from your bed, down your hallway?

Please don't patronize me on the virtues of being told truths and lies - we have had 4 years of constant lies that have been eaten up by the GOP, defended and constantly thrown forward.

The country would absolutely be in a better spot had the public been told the truth about this virus in Jan (when Trump knew).
I have found out for myself - we, as a nation - were lied to. Narratives were made, lines were drawn and here we are today - 7-8 months into this and still bickering on what we need to do to get past this - all the while we are still being lied to.

NC - you are a smart individual and someday, I hope we can meet and have some drinks! However, your comments of "words don't matter" is one of the most incorrect statements posted in this train-wreck of a thread. Words do matter - if they didn't.... you would have have people in this thread still calling Biden a pedophile (as an example)

Country over party - Trump is going down and as more information comes out - his supporters will see the truth, like it or not.
I did do the research for myself - this man is the wrong person for the job - no matter if he allowed me to get a tax refund ever year.

Country over party - seems we all need to remember that.

Depends on whether or not I live with a drug dealer. I don't, as far as I know, so I would not expect to be shot in my hallway.

Listen - I get your fealty to Trump, I don't agree to it - but I get it.

I NEVER said schools should have stayed closed - you assumed and tried to put words in my mouth.
You made light of the virus and defended it by saying you have a child in college.

Let me be clear - I am a single father of 2 daughters who had Covid and were sick. They did not die - but at this moment - we are still not sure the long term effects the virus had on them (if any)

Schools should open - based on the CDC guidelines. Not political pressure.

Schools in an area with less than 5% positivity rate (I believe that is what the CDC said) - go for it. Children need school
Area's above 5% - work to get it down.

Further - since you work in a school, wouldn't it have been nice to get some sort of national guidelines on how to set up and work through the day? Or do you subscribe to a "fend for yourself" mentality?

Except that you people wouldn't listen to him anyway. When he tried to take some control, the left reminded him that the President can't tell states what to do. Then, when the governors blew it, the left came back and said that the President should have told the states what to do.

Incorrect - don't try and spin this.

Trump never once took control as a leader
Never once got the Governors together to tell them the truth
Hell - you had Kushner in the WH stopping a plan because the virus was ravaging just "blue" states

That is sick and demented thought that these leaders would not help Americans because of political beliefs.

But, this is what YOU support (you may not agree with it - but you do support it) and you also make excuses and try and blame Dems for the utter failures of this administration in dealing with a health crisis.

National guidelines? Absolutely not. Like, literally, I disagree by 180 degrees. "One size fits all" does not work. One size fits all doesn't work in my own county, much less nationwide. You're forgetting that, by nature, conservatives don't want or need the federal government telling us what we should all be doing. Please don't tell New York City and Sandpoint, Idaho that they should follow one set of guidelines.

I never made light of anything. I pointed out that Trump was right. Schools should be open. Children are not at risk any more than they are at risk of catching the flu.

FYI, the CDC errs on the side of caution, like any medical group. When one of my pitchers has a sore arm, the first thing we tell him is DON'T GO TO THE DOCTOR. Why do you think that is?

Guidance is not the same as "do"

Children are not at risk - for what? To die? To have viral load? To be vectors? Please clarify

Guidance is just that - if you don't like the one size fits all - then why do you give grades in schools? Why do kids calculate GPA from Maine to California?

CDC is not worse case scenario - it is science that has been degraded by politics

Oh my.

Grading policies, GPA calculations, etc., vary all over the country. There is no "one size fits all" in America's schools. I don't even grade the same way as the lady next door, and we teach the same thing. Bad example.

CDC is absolutely worst case scenario because physicians are primarily concerned with liability.

Again, there was no reason not to open schools, meaning Trump was right. Unless you have data to show that reopening has been a failure.

Who gave criticism to Trump when he told them how bad this virus would be?
Who criticized Trump when he said we should shut down the economy?
Who criticized him when he said - if we follow these simple steps - we will be open back up and rocking better than before?
Who criticized Trump for enacting the DPA to make ventilators and more PPE?
Who criticized Trump for enacting a national testing plan and rolling it out to states?

Trump put a ban on travel back from China - y'all need to fact check this - it was a travel restriction and approx 40,000 people, from china, entered the USA after Feb 3rd - when the restriction started.

During a time of National crisis - we as a nation turn to the POTUS for guidance and leadership. Trump froze and defected any and all leadership.

Trump has been criticized for his lack of leadership and lack of guidance to the nation.

I never said not to reopen schools, not once.

I said, as a parent - I want to know the real risks for my children, and that being said - we were lied to.

The WH Task force went around until they found an article that was similar to the narrative Trump has been lying about for the last 7 months and ran with it. Ethically - that is wrong and immoral.

Is it really that big of a deal? How many breaks were there during the primaries?

Have there been breaks in other Presidential debates?

Not at all.

I hope they do it to both of them.

Just a tad ridiculous
