As far as the card goes, I may be stating the obvious, but that picture is the clown cartoon version of himself, so the photos are Tony Gwynn the player, Mr Padre the person, Mister Cartoon the artist. I really like it. I think it flows well, it's creative, and I love the drawings.
Agree 100%.

Fantastic card by a fantastic, well-known P2020 contributing artist.

Cards like that Gwynn is what will help propel this set beyond what many believe it can do.

I wonder if any of the East Coast artists will represent and step up to the challenge to show themselves like the West Coast has done?

I know Thiele basically put Efdot on his Williams card, but that doesn't really count.

Ben Baller does it every time. Face or name, they both represent the artist.

I love that Mr. C put the Clown Face on his card for all to see. Almost like a shout out to Baller if you ask me.

The axiom, "don't bite off more than you can chew," applies here.

It's hard to feel sympathy for his situation. You offer a service, if it gets overwhelming, stop offering the service until you get caught up. Sounds like he should have hired someone to help.

I'm not a fan of the Gwynn today, feels off to me by including the Mister Cartoon clown. I've liked a lot of his work thus far, but this is an easy pass for me. Just my opinion though, I can see how this particular card may be appealing to his fans

How great would it be if Oldmanalan's next card was just a selfie of himself standing in a field. With a hat on that he thought was cool, and with or without clown makeup.

I think it's two days in a row of passes for me, which would be the first time in a long time. Might circle back to that Clemente, though.

Yeah, true. Unfortunately Topps has the market cornered here, and can do pretty much whatever they want.

Good take. I'm surprised this is only the second card he's tagged (after Mattingly).

Just Gwynn butt, and clown face. Boom
I could get behind that one!

LOL

I personally prefer the big colorful bold mysterious Clemente Cartoon. I appreciate that he has mixed it up so much however. You can tell who made them but every single one is super different.

- I can think of a couple reasons, but most importantly...why not now?

- Which means I don't like "everything".

He was the artist I thought I’d have to have, but at this point I’ve only picked up 3 of his cards. It might just be Mr Cartoon can’t be boxed into borders, his style is expressive and I don’t think a standard size canvas will truly bring out his best work.
Interesting perspective on this; it's something I thought Ermsy's work (edit, Saladeen's as well) would suffer from coming in to the project, but it hasn't for the most part.

Companion-ship...ment notification!

Andrew Thiele dope George Floyd Heritage card on the way to meeeeee!

And some e-mails about Tyson Beck's Tatum dropping tomorrow!

Interesting bunch of options for purchase. Since the internet is a cesspool I will gripe that it seems the parallels are not inserted randomly.

We are gamblers, let us shoot our shot Tyson.

Genuinely surprised you like this that much given how much you view the original cards as the most important thing in the set. I would think adding an artists face so prominently (as opposed to working in your branding within the overall design) would have gone against the whole respect the cards (which are the reason the set exists) POV you've had thus far. It's always so interesting to see where we all individually set our lines and then blur them.

You guys keep calling him Mr.C and all I want to see is a picture of Tom Bosley on the card.

Every time people say Mr. C I think they are just addressing me more formally.

I'm in on the Pinky Tuscadero companion card. Need to have The Fonz on water skis somewhere too.

For Clementes, I'd probably rank them 1 Cartoon, 2 Ermsy, 3 Saladeen, 4 Oldmanalan, 5 Shore, 6 Taylor, with Cartoon a clear #1 to me, #2-4 very close.
These are my rankings
1 Oldmanalan
2 Saladeen
3 Chang
4 JK5
5 Taylor
6 Ermsy
7 Grotesk
8 Natural
19 tie Cartoon and Shore
