We have three so far (Wally Wood, Len Brown, and Bob Powell), but they will be 1/1, and available only in a special reward level featuring a bunch of exclusive autos.

We are optimistic we can track down a saunders, but time is running out.

The problem is, they are too costly (and hard) to obtain, I think it's best to make them available to one serious autograph hunter.

If that reward doesn't sell (and it might not), we'll drop them randomly into boxes. The same way we offered the uncut printing plate sheets last time, nobody bought them, so we cut them up and gave them out.

If they don’t sell, feel free to include them in my pledge!

Will post the stretch goal graphic shortly but there aren't quite as many this time. Most of the little additions from last time have been folded into the set already from the beginning. But it looks something like this:

25,000 GOAL
35,000: Add 3-Card Triptych to all orders (Kickstarter Backer Exclusive, 1 per customer)
50,000: Add Bonus Card to Uprising Binder (Exclusively)
75,000: Add "Mars Initials" Wax Pack Add-On (auto added to Supreme Leader Pledge)
100,000: Add 9 Story Cards to the base set (Current total: 27)
125,000: Add 3 Dinosaurs Attack Chase Cards (Current Total: 9)
150,000: Add 9 Story Cards to base set (Current Total: 36)
165,000: Add 9 Mars Motors Chase Cards (Current Total: 18)
175,000: Add 9 Story Cards to base set (Current Total: 45)

We have plans for 185K, 200K, 225, 250, 275, 300, and 350. Any suggestions for smaller stretch goals along the way are welcome.

I really like how you’ve laid this set out. We know what’s included with the pledges and the stretch goals are great to see the base set and subsets increase in size. Are you planning on doing a 1st day pledge card?

There is an idea that first day backers will have their triptych set foil stamped "First Day Backer."

We did this experimentally for Funny Fiends, but I have yet to get debriefed by Tom on how easy or difficult that was to implement.

FWIW, the 3 non-MA campaigns we did this year were all test runs of a sort for Mars Attacks, to do a dry run on certain new ideas, on a smaller scale.

When I click on the Sidekick url in the first post it doesn't take me to anything to do with this Mars Attacks stuff. Does someone have a link to where everything is consolidated? It's getting difficult to know what's what right now.

Hope it works out. Having the first day backer card is a nice addition to the set.

There's no place for consolidated info at this time. After the new year, once the campaign page is completed (it's about 80% done right now, waiting on some artwork), we'll release a preview link.

I didn't realize it was that far out - thank you!

Will launch Feb 3. We don't normally promote a campaign this far in advance, but given the high price points of some of the rewards that I know will be attractive to many, we felt some fans might appreciate the advance notice.

The original plan was to launch in August or September, but negotiations with Topps took a while. By the time it was buttoned up, we wouldn't have been able to launch the full campaign until December, and that's DEATH for a kickstarter campaign.

It’s nice to have the heads up on this project to make sure I know what extra money I’ll be putting out in February!

More Stretch Goals:

185K: Add Rainbow Foil Parallels (1 per Hobby Box, full set added to Supreme Leader pledge)
200K: Add Space-Borne Tobacco Card Variants (full set of variants added to Supreme Leader)
250K: Add Rainbow Foil Heritage Parallels (2 per box, full set added to Supreme Leader)
300K: Artist Bonus #1 (we'll give a bonus payment to all artists)
350K: Artist Bonus #2 (we'll give a second bonus payment to all artists)

I have ideas for higher goals, but will not unveil them until after we launch and only if it looks like there's a chance we might meet them. I don't want to look foolish announcing goals at levels that high and then we stall out at $100K or something.

Stretch Goal idea:

1 Million: Trip to Mars (one way, coach seating, no carry-ons)

According to NASA, the environment in low earth orbit is a "complex mixture of galactic cosmic radiation, particles of trapped belts and secondary particles."

So we can bill the "space borne" variants as BATHED IN COSMIC RAYS! Maybe we can overprint them with a metallic glitter or something.

Maybe you wouldn’t have to send the cards up to space. You could just send up the glitter and use that. Similar to what you did for the mars dust and dinosaur bone in the printing ink for the letter press cards.

We thought about that, but if we can send the cards, we will. Also, it might actually be easier: we can print them on the same sheet as everything else. If we do it with a special ink, or glitter, or something like that, they have to be printed separately.

One of the reasons for the lengthy delays on Occupation was the enormous number of elements that all needed to be produced separately. I'm trying to streamline it, with the hopes that once all the designs are completed, we can just print everything all together.

One element, the membership kit, the patch and pin came back much more costly than we'd originally been told. We're shopping around for other quotes, but to be honest, the idea of the kit is now not really that sweet for me: it's a lot of work, for something we might only get 50 orders for.

To bad to hear about the costs increasing to produce a membership kit. Your idea had a cool 1980’s vibe to it. I remember my old Star Wars one as a kid.

Tom really loves the Fan Club Kit idea, and is pushing me to make it happen, mostly just because he likes fun retro stuff like that. It's nice to work with someone who "gets" that side of fan fun stuff, even if at times I can be more practical. I think it's one of the reasons we work so well together.

So we will be offering it, for $35.

I’m so glad to hear that. It’s so good to see how well you 2 work together. This is a really great project.
