Does Topps' own inventory really impact distribution inventory?

I'm guessing it doesn't really move the needle much.

Big boys won't change anything, the Topps distribution is a drop in the bucket that'll go away in a week or two.

My LCS is selling hobby at $249. Don't remember jumbo price.

That's fair, who is it? I am close by. LCS closest to me is a ripoff artist.

(they still have Prizm basketball hobby for $2300 and refuse to budge even though everyone else sells it for half of that)

I just find it hard to believe there will be enough demand for "distributors" to keep prices that high without any real RC drivers right now. Maybe Im overestimating the market cooldown. With the ridiculous profits of the last few years it certainly gives them the luxury of holding out I guess.

The last few years of Chrome have only had prices sky rocket, there is really no incentive for people to drop prices when they can just hold it.

Blasters are going to be sitting on target indefinitely, zero bots will be buying these.

I walked into a walmart today that stocked yesterday and still had a dozen chrome blasters at customer service with no limit. Bought 3 with no thought that i’ll pull more than $30 of cards out of these total. rookie class is atrocious so i’m basically buying lottery tickets at a kelenic.

I'm highly confused as to why people are buying Chrome at these prices. Aren't the rookies garbage this year? Why on earth would anyone pay $200 on the Topps site, $250 at an LCS, or the joke of the price that Blowout has listed?

I've been out of the hobby since the crazy spikes, but this makes absolutely no sense to me, especially given how poor the rookie class is.

Because it’s my favorite baseball card product that I wait all summer for . (Bought 16 blasters on Topps.com. I do expect to see them sit on Target probably similar to heritage , but since I don’t know that for a fact , I ponied up today )
