Wasn’t the outcome we wanted but it’s the outcome we needed to keep hopes alive. Iran beating wales just means we have to beat Iran. Tie and we’re out

The rich clubs get all the talent and the country the kids is from benefits from that at the national level.

Why should a MLS team take a kid and spend time and money training them up when they can’t even sign them to their team because they have to draft players?

It’s no coincidence that countries like Spain, France, Germany, England and Italy produce so much talent as that is where the big 5 leagues are and club training facilities are everywhere.

This is changing in the US. The Union have not drafted a player in years, instead trading their draft picks for allocation money and building through their academy. They are also investing heavily in surrounding urban community to draw talent and recently announced plans to build a state of the art training facility. Exporting players developed through their academy to Europe on an annual basis.

Seeing similar models with Red Bull, Seattle, Dallas, and NYCFC.

US will be among the top 5 in the World within the next decade.

Decade? I'm a homer and a Cubs fan and even I can't pull out that much optimism. If you mean "at some point they hit 5" in the weird FIFA rankings... maybe (I think they've been as high as 4) but consistently? Maybe in 2-3 generations if we can build on the commitment a few clubs have shown.

A lot of it comes from overseas.....Dest, Jedi, Weah, Musah, Reyna....all were either born or grew up overseas and/or the children of immigrants.

Someone tell these Fox Announcers you DO NOT have to talk during the entire game. This is not an American Brain Dead type of Game where you have to keep your audience stimulated with dialogue. You can zip it allow the game to be shown without commentary.

Will the Arg/Mex match be on Fox broadcast?

If not, anyone have a link to stream it?

Great win as an Argentina fan yesterday, but man oh man do we look all over the place. A bit better after Messi’s goal, as Mexico had to push some players forward, but we are really struggling in midfield and both fullbacks; never seen De Paul as bad as this in an Argentina shirt. Montiel is like a cone. Hopefully we beat Poland and finish 1st in the group but anything can happen. Also, what a goal by Enzo

Second half was a totally different team. Acuna should have started game 1. Much better with him in the game in my opinion - he has been solid all year. De Paul has been terrible so far. Right back is a weak link too.

What a goal by Morocco. Belgium shaky in this tournament to say the least.

Jamal Musiala came out on top today among the under 20's

Thought both Pedri and Gavi were fairly pedestrian. Which describes the game pretty well to be honest.

Fati must be wondering what the hell he has to do to get ten minutes, he's a far better player than Nico Williams.

Better than Dani Olmo, too.

Every team needs a Goretzka.
