NFTs, ICOs, Shitcoins... these are all just effects of a euphoric bull run. All the casuals tune in for the ride up, get busted out, and then swear off "crypto" every again without even understanding what it is.

They're not the same thing. That's the problem. There's a fundamental misunderstanding of what crypto is.

If you (not you personally) are going to just equate crypto with pump and dump scams and shitcoins, you're never going to get it.

If we just replaced the word crypto with blockchain, people would be more likely to understand the value.

The fact is that bitcoin is here to stay. It's a real asset class and big money is behind it.

Bitcoin has outperformed every major index this year, all the biggest stocks (besides NVDA) and blown away most other asset classes.

People have convinced themselves it must go down because "reasons". They don't understand any of the economics behind it or why the only truly fixed supply asset might be valuable. They don't understand the value in it's divisibility. They don't understand the value in distributed computing or why an immutable digital ledger might be important.

I could go on but the people who've convinced themselves it must be a scam are just going to lose out

People can understand and at the same time just not care.

You are certainly free to not have cared about potentially doubling your money this year.

You “don’t care” about a lot of stuff yet you continue to spend time whining about it.

People care about potentially losing half or more of their money by the end of next year or later.

I could not care any less about you or your money. Just look at the chart for Bitcoin and cry some more about it

Maybe one day I’ll post my BTC holdings

You brought it up buddy. You comment like bitcoin is the only asset out there to see big returns on. It’s not. But I’d love for you to share what portion of your investable net worth is in crypto.

I simply shared that BTC has about doubled this year, outpacing just about every other asset class and you had to bring up your net worth.

I'm not here to have a dk measuring contest with you because I don't care and you have 50x what I do. You're a big boy doctor making big bucks and you're so insecure that you constantly feel the need to tell everyone about how much money you have.

I have enough crypto, I don't calculate my "net worth" because it's irrelevant to any discussion I would have and I'm poor anyways.

You tried to rub in my face bitcoin doubling this year because I said I understood the crypto theory but simply don’t care. You want to temper it down now, that’s fine.

I care about crypto as an investment the same as I care about real estate as an investment. Not part of my portfolio today, and no plans to make it part of it in the future.

If you can't see that you should have bought bitcoin the first few months of the year, you are a fool.

The question is, is it smart to buy it right now.

Anyhoo. Back to cards.

There is still a ton of money coming in and out daily. People either have money to spend of they don't. Not sure how the next 12 months plays out though.

Temper it down? You're here looking for people to affirm how amazing and rich you are. Obviously don't get enough affirmation in your daily life.

Big boy did a 2.8x on his net worth this year, do you want a party?

Can't buy happiness

People and hedge funds do.

There is no reason to gamble with crypto if you’ve already won the game.

It’s like you are citing Wemby cards are up double in the last month. Doesn’t make his cards a smart investment.

I could give you multiple reasons why BTC is a good investment at this exact moment.

Doesn't matter though because you've made up your mind already.

There are many boats you can get on. You don’t have to be in all of them and still be fine. No need to get on the titanic if a different boat gets you to the same place.

comparing BTC to the titanic is the exact point I've been making. You couldn't even tell me 1 thing about bitcoin other than what you've seen in passing online but you're convinced it's going to crash because "reasons"

Are you trying to retire early with BTC?

Trying to score an exquisite Lebron rpa?

Why the pump?

Buffet won’t invest in anything he doesn’t understand. He’s doing fine without it.

Why are you pumping it so much? Because you need more investors to drive prices higher?

If stating facts about the year BTC has had is pumping then I guess I'm trying to retire early

The worldview of people on this forum is so narrow
