First Chicago takes over the Vatican. Next up, the NFC North...

Naturally the first ever American Pope would be from Chicago.

Don't forget the 300 weekly car jackings over the spring and summer in the immediate downtown area. Always a good time.

Pope? Easter bunny? What is this, second grade?
Who, as an adult, actually believes in bearded sky fairy and some clown in a big gold hat?

"Shallow men believe in luck or in circumstance. Strong men believe in cause and effect."

...dem Bears are crap for the same reasons daw Bears are always last place in the division lately: bad carousel coaching, inferior talent, too many turnovers, good grouping. Poor little Caleb is probably already counting the months and weeks until he can leave free agent. Too bad they didn't get him a decent RB in draft or FA.

Did you really come in this thread, to call the Pope a clown? And God a fairy? That is low, even for you.

The Easter bunny is not real. The Pope is. Who, as an adult, doesn't understand that?

1.5BIL Catholics, making up nearly 20% of humanity, will disagree with you.

Back on topic. Pope count:

Chicago 1. The rest of the NFC North combined zero!

I have to agree. Chicago is where you would stick an enema if the US was constipated. Can confirm as a Chicagoan.

29 World Championships in the 4 major sports. World class dining, attractions and museums. One of the most visited cities in the country.

Zero civic pride. But expected, from a South Sider.

It's a cesspool of crime and crazy liberals that want to ruin what was once a great city. It accelerated during covid. Don't assume my realistic views mean I don't love my city. I'm still here. But I'm not going to close my eyes to the huge flaws ruining it. I'm not talking sports in this instance. I'm talking about a family being able to walk down the street with their kids and enjoy their day without worrying about getting shot in the head for no reason other than for where they live. Brandon Johnson is the worst mayor in the history of city mayors and don't even get me started on Pritzker. Our no cash bail out system. Our high taxes. Our corruption at every level of Politics. And our ridiculous state debt due to said corruption. www.cwbchicago.com - do some reading before you swell with all that civic pride.

Driving to Chicago with all the tolls used for corrupt politicians is what kills it for me.

Its true! You gotta hideout somewhere that no one can find you. And God knows, no one hangs out in Wisconsin unless they have to. Well, except farmers I guess. Lots and lots of farmers.

Ah, you are one of "those". That makes sense now. "Chicago sucks, but I wont leave Chicago. But it sucks!"

And no, slinging trash like this in a public forum and then claiming you "Love" your city doesn't fly. 3MIL people all in the same space, in the 3rd largest city in the US will have crime. Shocking, I know! Doesn't scare away the 60MIL tourists that visits each year. But you do you!

Just be...smart? Pretty much don't walk around neighborhoods you aren't familiar with late at night by yourself and be respectful to others. But isn't that the same in every other big city?

There are of course exceptions, but you rarely see crime by the touristy/popular areas.

Growing up, I did see the police chase someone down in front of Mario's Lemonade. It was a hot summer day and ppl just stepped around him to order their refreshing Italian Lemonade. Wasn't a big deal to me but my sister was scarred from that incident. Haha.

Exactly! Chicago is not for the weak. Only the strong survive!

From our friend and fallen comrade jplarson

"Are there dangerous places in Chicago? Sure. Just like there's dangerous trailer parks in 2,000 population villages in Wisconsin. Are there MORE crimes in Chicago vs other places? Sure, it's simple math"

Chicago tourism is still below pre-pandemic levels. But ok. Yes, you can love your city and hate what corruption is doing to it. Not understanding your (lack of) logic here. "How dare you find fault with bad things going on in your city, you bury your head in the sand and you love it no matter what! Don't be one of those!" That's what I got out of your text. As of Last year, crime was up almost 20% while arrests were down 40%. It's hard arguing with a boomer who doesn't actually pay attention to, or read anything, but has a feeling and an opinion therefore it's true. Try living in facts. Lincoln Park, one of the richest, nicest areas in the city, has a huge crime issue. From CBS:

Robberies:
Lincoln Park experienced a 63% increase in robberies compared to the previous year.

"So, this OMG 3mil people there's crime, duuuuuh." Is laughable, there is clearly a problem going on. You're living in a fantasy land and people like you are exactly why the city has decayed. You're apathetic and ignorant and let the city and the country go to waste and then complain about younger generations not doing anything for what you allowed. And even worse, you think the Bears have a chance year in and year out. To be so ignorant.
