I know you’re trolling but damn you’re insufferable, even let a little racism slip out there. Can’t wait for the Houdini post showing whose alt account this is. |

Yeah I also noticed he made sure to include a little nationalism (or maybe something worse) in there. Wouldn’t worry too much since a majority of his posts have been drive-by troll posts of Giannis, Trae, Luka, and Andrew Luck. Seems to like it when people lose money or are unhappy. Some people are just like that.

I decided to do some math for my own education and for fun, this is not a bash Luka post I have some low pop Luka myself. All numbers are +- 100 because I did not click on cards with a pop of 2 or lower for Giannis. For Luka I didn't click on anything lower than 50 because there were so many:
Total Graded Luka Doncic PSA 10 2019 Rookies across most products: 33,404 Total Graded Giannis PSA 10 2013 Rookies across all products: 7,413 2204 of that is Giannis PSA 10 base Prizm which is BY FAR the highest pop of any of his rookies, it is double the population of his 2nd highest pop card. You'll notice with Luka that his base (pop 13k psa 10) and ridiculously high pop psa 10 stuff took a nosedive when he got eliminated from the playoffs while his lower pop stuff stayed around the same (which honestly those should be up not down, there's 120 psa 10 select silvers but 13,000 base prizms yet it only costs 3 base prizms to get one select silver etc.) Giannis is a part of the 2nd lowest population production year for modern NBA cards. There are significantly less giannis psa 10s of any product than Kobe, Luka, Lebron Holding any rookie of his even a base rookie in a low end set has at least 4.5x more upside than a comparable base rookie in any other major player not a part of the 2012 draft class (which is lower pop). There can't be as sustained or as deep of a dip in Giannis cards because of the lack of supply compared to someone like Luka and if the market is truly beginning to shake off some of these inefficiencies in the pop report, the relative scarcity of Giannis will come to light. What makes me laugh is when people make it their mission on here to degrade stars of Giannis’ caliber as if he’s just another dude in the NBA without a ring. As Reggie Jackson famously said, “Fans don’t boo nobodies.” There wouldn’t be a massive thread about Giannis like this if he was a nobody, and he wasn’t handed an MVP award without the stats to back it up.
Also, the trolls paint a picture that there are only 5-6 people that aren’t “terrible” in the NBA. Are the only good players in the NBA on the team that wins the championship? Please. The whole ring or failure view is incredibly small-minded. Again, I sold my stake in Giannis early on in COVID so Im not trying to defend an investment, but I would strongly advise against panic selling him. I will be buying Giannis in the offseason along with this other dude named Zion that the trolls couldn’t get enough of ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It's disappointing to see people's myopic takes on guys like Giannis, for instance, who is nothing but great for the game and the hobby. What shortcomings do you have to have in your personal life that you feel vindicated by anonymously going online and bashing a 25 y/o who will be (like it or not) the future and one of the faces of the league for many years to come? He's a hard worker and seems to genuinely love the game and the challenge of improving his abilities at any chance he gets. If you have a problem with that, you might need to take a good long look in the mirror.

Losing in playoffs for MVP happens all the time. But to lose this way definitely looks bad
I think the NBA is way more competitive in the last decade, so many great players, future HOFers Lebron, KD , Kawhi and Steph are all top 20 players of all time. Then you have Harden, Giannis, AD, Klay, Westbrook, CP3, D Wade, and now Luka is coming Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'm amazed but not surprised by all the overreactions to Giannis' performance.
First of all, it's not like he was a non-factor. He put up 21, 16 and 9. That being said, what he didn't do was come away with some heroic performance that would support the claim that he is the best player on the planet right now. This series will go down as a failure, no doubt. But, he's 25, and has a lot left in front of him. LeBron too had his failure. As a Cavs fan and someone who lived near Cleveland until 2010, I remember them well. -2007 NBA Finals, getting swept out by the Spurs (although, nobody expected them to get that far, so even back then this season wasn't viewed as a failure) -2008 ECF, losing to Orlando. That one hurt. -2009 losing to Boston. It was the moment when you knew it might all be over -2010 losing to Dallas in the Finals. But in the end LeBron figured out how to master the physical parts of the game where he was lacking, as well as the mental part of the game. Game 6 of the ECF vs Boston in 2011 was when LeBron finally became 'the man'. I was hoping we'd get that out of Giannis tonight, but he's not quite there yet. Giannis is not LeBron. This playoffs is a reminder to us all how damn hard it is to win a championship. There are 5-10 bonafide super stars in the NBA, depending on who you ask, and all but 1 or 2 will falter at some point in the playoffs. Most players will fail. I feel a bit sorry for the folks who jumped in on Giannis cards way too late in the game and now are experiencing the immediate crash in more common cards like his 2013 Prizm. While I hope it doesn't cripple anybody financially, it may end up being a good lesson in how this card market works. As for me, I'm still bullish on certain Giannis stuff... just maybe not a prices from 4 weeks ago. I always preach that for the long term it's best to hold the stuff that is special enough that even if things go sideways, the market cannot get flooded with it. Like it or not, we're still in the early chapters of Giannis' story.

Edit: After LeBron lost to the Celtics in 2009, I bought a SGC 98 Finest for $180. Sold it for $600 a year or two later. A cautionary tale. Last edited by deemsterz33; 09-05-2020 at 05:46 AM. |

Its like zion, people don't dislike him, they dislike the StockX kids hyping him as better than jordan. Think of it as the associative property. We aren't hating Giannis. We are hating the fools who hyped him up as easy champions this year. And there are plenty of people who did that. You cant point out their wins in regular season, and then get angry when their losses post season are talked about. |

I'm in this for the long haul. Hopefully I can find a few more/10 rookies, or a few more full name rookie autos. This is a great buying opportunity, and it's never over until it is over

Because that's a lot of paper value that is going to deteriorate once the Bucks get bounced and until Giannis leaves Milwaukee. I don't know exactly what RPA he has but it's safe to assume that it's value will also decline at a similar clip as other Giannis are bound to...which is mainly due to people buying high and expecting a quick flip and once they realize there's little upside in the short term hold they will sell. Additionally, if prices decline 30% and he does decide to leave Milwaukee prices may bounce back to near highs but I don't think they're going to get much higher unless he wins a championship. High end Giannis will also be a tough sell during the off season unless it's discounted.
OP probably got into it for nothing and in some cases it makes sense to cash out and reinvest. Buy another Luka blue, buy vintage, buy an MJ Fleer, buy whatever but I think people will realize that Giannis has multiple chips priced in and those chips are looking less and less like a reality in Milwaukee. I hope I'm wrong about all this as I am a Giannis collector and have quite a few high end cards but sometimes you have to take an uncomfortable perspective. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

I agree. Jimmy is handling things quite nicely for a dude who's shuffled around the past few years. So glad he didn't get stuck in Philly or worse, Minnesota. Crazy, I remember hearing folks say Miami would be a sleeper in the playoffs BEFORE the season got shut down for covid. They are really buying into what's what in Miami. So happy for them all down there. Especially Jimmy.

It’s going to be so rough next year. Giannis will be 26 with 2 mvps looking to move to a powerhouse team. What will us collectors ever do with all the Giannis we have for pennies...

I know right... I get dumping Giannis right now if you are in dire need of money. Aside from that though, you're literally selling at possibly the lowest value marker for the foreseeable future.
