Yes, as is true for most people, I do have time that I do not explicitly allocate with a profit incentive. Posting here is in that time.

Untrue. If my entertainment value of "trolling internet forums" is worth more than the gain of being miserable selling gimmick cards on eBay, then your assessment is patently incorrect.

I am explicity allocating my profit incentive into escrow.

Impressed.

It is called preselling. Go ahead and sell today’s cards on eBay and then when they are live, buy them off eBay or BO BST to fill the preorders.

Simple...because you are not brave enough to try it, true short selling requires sizeable market liquidity and volumes exceed many multiples of the totality of every clown card you have sold this year.

But you re-sell a gimmicky card on the internet, so you wouldn't understand.

If you would like to bet on recurring values of these Beanie Babie cards in 1-year's time, I would gladly put any amount of money where my mouth is, in escrow, any time.

That would simultaneously allow me to easily "put my money where my mouth is" without having to spend endless hours of time for small amounts of money buying and re-selling gimmick cards, like so many here think is so glamorous. I am prepared to put any amount you would like "where my mouth is." LMK terms and how much you would like to bet. Would be happy to send escrow to any trusted member.
You will "gladly...", yet you won't short these cards like you originally insinuated if someone showed you how.

All I see are excuses because you aren't brave enough to back up your words or theories, probably don't have enough money to back them up, and aren't smart or competent enough to even try.

We get it. Your depth of understanding is vastly limited, and therefore Project 2020 is beyond you. No worries. The trading card market and hobby itself is vast enough for your limited range. Trust me.

Yes. Plus I provided free commentary of the real time phenomena of a short lived fad. The participants of said fad are upset.

Some in this thread may still have Don West's phone number saved from his Shop at Home Beanie Baby specials.

This guy also finds trolling internet forums highly entertaining.

You're a moron. I said the values wouldn't last. Pre-selling something is not a means to shorting a longer term value. You are wildly dense.

Take average sale prices of top 10 P2020 cards this week. I will bet you any amount that those average prices are lower in 1 year to this day. You won't. Assuredly, you won't. This is the definition of "putting your money where your mouth is." But again, you won't.

The Yankees went to the playoffs 17 of his 20 years, one of the years they didn't Jeter was hurt for almost the entire year

No, you just don't know how to read nor think critically. There is a difference.

I'd like it if just any of these cards showed I ordered from 83-114 and haven't received a single one

I think who else was on the Yankees probably factored into that.

BTW grew of in the tri-state area and went to school in the Philly area so know them both pretty well.

This stat does say something about what type of player Jeter was, .310 career avg .308 postseason avg.
I understand what you're getting at and it makes sense from your POV as a New Yorker. But you can say that about every "great" player that every fan base had the pleasure of watching over the length of a career. Your emotions and fandom are intrinsically tied into your bias about that player. After watching a player over 15-20 years, you make up intangibles and construct your own narrative about the player that goes beyond who they really were.

It would be sacrilegious to tell a die hard Padres fan that Tony Gwynn was overrated because despite a career .338 batting average he was mostly a slap singles hitter and didn't draw many walks. He was a leader in the community! He had so many intangibles! He's literally Mr. Padre!

Of course Gwynn was a deserving HOFer who had a great career. But he had his faults too, just like almost every other player. But there aren't many die hard Padre fans to assert themselves like there are Yankee fans (or Red Sox, or Dodgers). So the myth that a player like Jeter was that much better than they really were will be passed on through the ages, similar to Mantle, that they were some kind of Superman with all the intangible qualities that made them better than their peers, despite the fact the stats don't compare.
