From BO. So....... looks like its going to be tough to hit the SPs. Fire and Finest Flashback might end up being the box to hoard.
Yep, confirms it's not just the SPs in the silver packs so that's good. Also interesting that they covered the jumbo boxes as well in the announcement. Looks like it's 1 silver pack for each hobby or jumbo box. Thought there was a chance of 2 silver packs for jumbo boxes but looks like only 1.

No offense intended to our host, but until/unless they explicitly confirm that they've been told something more specific than what Topps said in their statement (which seems unlikely considering the BO post says things like "Additional details to follow as information is made available to us." and "No details were provided on retail in its statement revealed on Monday night." which really don't sound like 'we talked to our account reps and they told us...'), I'm going to assume they're just speculating the way we all are.

No idea how Layton continually gets people to buy overpriced spots for garbage products. Good for them though I guess.

These were likely supposed to be in retail as well, and really not as SP as people think IMO. They were added late for some god awful reason since all these players were up on opening day.

Topps this year should take a F-.

But how many hobby boxes are there? 90,000? I don't know, shoot lets just say 150,000 total hobby and jumbo boxes.

That is 300,000 total SP cards, roughly 60,000 per player. Sounds crazy right?

Well, not to me if they were just supposed to be a little tougher to hit than base. Aren't people saying every base is over 100,000 at minimum?

This is why I think it wouldn't be too far fetched to think these packs are strictly SP cards. But who knows.

Once again, the pack is 2 cards not 2 sp cards. Its a chance to get an sp card, we have no idea what the hit rate will be nor what the other cards are.

Are you from the future and know this with 100% certainty?

Yeah please. This is a company that was supposedly confused as to whether or not they had 5 cards in a product on release date.

Their press release is so bad. It's like they couldn't sit more than 3 people down who know something about baseball cards and a lawyer to make the language is clear.

Blowout's statement means nothing. They are speculating off the same source material we are reading together as first hand outside observers.

I would bet the exact opposite of JRX's statement. Neither of us knows anything for certain. Declaring so is a fools errand.

Topps doesn't even know what they are doing themselves half the time. Their statements can't be taken as trustworthy. You are just going to have to wait until some have been opened.

If theres 1 pack per box and each pack had 2 of the 5 sp then their print run would be close to if not more than the base cards. To get any specific card from the base set from a hobby box is that less than 40%?

Roughly 1/3. (Hobby box expected base card total is ~74, checklist is 220)

Topps probably ripping open their hobby boxes to sift out base cards for the packs. Wonder what they are going to do with all of the hits from the boxes? Supers for the Transcendent packs? Not going to end well.

These silver packs are turning everyone into real jerks - you've either become an entitled buyer or an entitled seller.

Topps, what have you done?

You are looking just at HOBBY. I honestly feel people are thinking the print runs on these are going to be like 200-300 per player.

I don't think Topps meant that at all and this was just meant to be extended base like what we saw with Vlad Jr back in 2019. We will never know.

But I would argue the print run on these will be more in line to 30-45,000 than 1,000 like people are speculating

Theres thousands of cases of this stuff. There can easily be thousands of each card and there still not be 2 sp cards per silver pack which is per box.

Oh, I'm pretty sure everyone acting like a jerk was a jerk to begin with.

If every pack has a SP, being 1 for 1 with hobby boxes in the half million+ range, then they wouldn't be very SP would they, they also wouldn't be very valuable.

Default 2022 Topps Chrome Baseball Pre Sale.. thoughts?

I’m in the best thread of ‘22 camp.

First time in a long time I’ve had to keep coming back and read every post of a topic. Thanks Topps!

Based on past experience, is Topps likely to now or even ever release production numbers for the Silver Packs and / or SP RC’s?
