I’ve been chasing Mahomes rookies, Zion rookies and Ichiros....BUT late last year I decided to get into Soto. I purchased a PSA 10 US300 (Full “W”) for $55 and a PSA 10 HTM55 for $65.

I took a break and then got back into it. My latest Soto’s...

1. PSA 9 Topps Rainbow foil US300 rookie
2. Two raw Topps Heritage rookies
3. Panini Donruss Rated Rookie Red Refractor /99
4. Topps 83’ Refractor rookie
5. Last night grabbed a PSA9 Topps 3D #US300

Nothing monster but it feels good to get some of his stuff...

Any WAR experts in here? I'm wondering how defensive WAR is calculated. Don't see any errors by Soto in 2020, yet his dwar is negative (-0.7). what gives?

Different websites (Fangraphs vs. Baseball Reference) use different defensive metrics, but basically they have ratings for things like outfield range (how many balls he doesn't get to due to worse-than average reads off the bat, worse-than-average jumps, slower foot speed, etc., that fall for hits, or get past him for extra bases, compared to other left fielders, and how many fly balls he catches that are easy, moderate, difficult, and nearly impossible, compared to other left fielders. Also, there may be metrics for throws, where runners may successfully challenge his arm and take an extra base more often as compared to other left fielders. Not totally sure on that last one, but metrics exist for those first two for sure.
