Zion is way better, way sooner, than I thought he was going to be. He seems to be getting more comfortable/athletic as the season progresses. If he can develop a shot (narrator: "he will") it's going to be scary.

I know hindsight is 20/20 but imagine had they taken Des Bane instead of Kira. Don't get me wrong I like Kira and think he could be a really good player. However, Bane just fits better with this team with his shooting and I think he has a really good upside defensively.

I do not go a day without pondering what the Pels could have been if they had pursued CP3 this past offseason instead of Phoenix. Top 4 right now wouldn't be out of the question.

to be fair, the one that went $4550 was a raw on Probstein, that wasn't in the Panini sealed mag. I think people have wised up and know that consignors like Probstein are where you dump your stuff with flaws, and tend to bid accordingly. Personally I don't care as much on cards like that, since I don't like grading those thick on-card autos, so I would have bid on it if I still needed one. Luckily I think I got the redemption back at release for $3600. Weird end times for both of these. Midnight EST on a Thursday for the Probstein, Friday morning for the other one.

I know people are telling themselves that they're waiting for the offseason to buy and sell during the preseason run up, but I listened to a podcast and a youtuber say the same thing today, which makes me think this is the best time to buy, and sell to those guys during their (and their followers) buy periods.

I also think the preseason run up is going to start ridiculously early for Zion. I remember telling myself I was going to pick up a couple more cards of Tatis before this season and the dip never got as low as I wanted, while the preemptive surge came way earlier than I thought and kept getting increasingly ludicrous.

Zion is such an obvious offseason target that I think the sheer amount of people that want to grab a stash is going to prevent much of a dip and it’s going to get bananas as next season approaches. I would either buy right now or right after the Pelicans (most likely) fail to make the playoffs.

They play the warriors 3 times in may. They are currently 3 games back of the warriors. 9% seems like a good risk/reward

Totally didn’t even notice it wasn’t in the sealed mag. Just thought the condition looked better than the one that ended in the morning but I guess it would probably be difficult to get a card that’s so jacked up that it looks worse raw than in a case. Very nice purchase price on yours, I’m jealous!

I don’t know if I’d go that far. I imagine it’s an end of season type of sale going on. People who don’t want to hold through the offseason. I wouldn’t be surprised if the lowest Zion prices for the next year are realized in May/June.

I just got back from the courtside card show in Miami, first time going and I believe it’s the biggest it’s ever been. Was lots of people, multiple standing at almost every table. If it’s all going down, nobody in Miami knows it

I know, the last line was just sarcasm. Whoever emptied their vault got murdered though, so many copies of slabbed bass all at once, prices went way under market for most of it. I only picked up a couple pieces, PSA 10 of Optic and 2 PSA 10 of Mosaic for $360. I figure with the price of grading bound to go up, there’s very little downside for Zion PSA 10s for just over $100 each.

Wow, that is an amazing deal. I remember subbing 2 Zion Optic base when I pulled them last year, both got 10s and I sold one right away for like $350 and I still have the other. While I don’t think that card will skyrocket anytime soon, it makes zero sense to sell those now. Very nice pickups!
