How do you not like Jey? His ring skills are not definitely the best. But his ability to capture the crowd with a saying and hand gesture reminds me of someone else who captured the crowd in a similar way back in 2013. Also, IMO, that was true honest emotion last night. The ability to not put sentences together and shedding tears, I appreciate moments like that. He has the crowd in his hands right now and hope he wins at WM.

So assuming Jey wins the title from Gunther at Mania. What feuds can he have as champion that would even remotely seem winnable for Jey? Sami Zayn? Dominic Mysterio? Because most other guys would be tough to sell as losing to Jey Uso

I actually predict that both Gunther and Cody will retain at 'Mania this year, no matter who they face. Might be one of the few times (if not the only time) that both top champions retain at 'Mania. Jey winning Rumble is nice, but I prefer seeing him chase just a little more while first.

Bron, AJ, Finn, KO, LA Knight, Solo. I could even see him go on a nice feud with McIntyre. I do agree that it probably won't be a long run if he wins. At some point he will have to run into Rollins, Punk, Orton, etc.

Yes I get the fans love Jey, but to me he's boring in the ring. Punch, slap, superkick (which has been completely devalued as a power move), spear, splash.
Let me ask the group this, is there a memorable Jey Uso singles match? Memorable for being good, not the snoozer he and Jimmy had at WM. |

I think 90% of the people who cheer and do the yeet dance and all that good stuff do so because they've seen that some online influence told them that they're supposed to and so they just go along with the crowd like the bunch of sheep they are.

Will Jey Uso be Kofimania all over again? Fans get hot they push him into main event at WM were he wins the title then a couple months later he drops the title?

And Kofi had the title for 180 days. That's a good run. I get you guys don't like Jey, but let's quit acting like he's Giovanni Vinci, or Akram, or Karl Anderson, or some jobber they brought in from the local regional company. Last edited by whitmm; 02-04-2025 at 06:58 PM. |

Last night has me completely convinced we're gonna get Rock vs. Roman and Rhodes vs. Punk as our WM Main Events.

They announced Roman Reigns is out for the foreseeable future. If they were going to build him vs. Cody, they would have started it by now, not written him off for the "foreseeable future". Also, I don't buy anything into him facing Seth Rollins in a "grudge" match at WM. He's the biggest star in the company and the match he's in at WM won't be a throw away match. So, who would face Cody? The only other wrestlers big enough to face Cody in the ME at WM is Punk and Cena; and EVERYTHING being said and done with Cena is showing a man who won't earn his chance based on a single match. He'll earn it the old fashioned way. That leaves CM Punk. The man who created the blueprint for a revolution against the man who followed the blueprint. |

Also, if I had to speculate, we'll also get...
Jacob Fatu vs. Solo Sikoa and Logan Paul vs. John Cena |

-- Cute guys like cracktoast and Jericho are so delusional in their takes on Jey. Like I said before, there has to be a point where you can say "I personally don't like this guy, but I acknowledge just how over he is", if you can't do that you're living in fantasy land. You're guys' tears are going to be so sweet come Wrestlemania.

lol no tears here I openly said Jey was likely winning at WM. And I don't hate him I just think his popularity has more to do with people following the crowd than actual momentum. Have you watched any of his matches lately? It's all hype and dance before and after ( when he wins) but little during the match. The really over guys get chants during the match like (Let's Go Cena...Cena Sucks) or ( FU Solo) etc.

I've said it too many times now. Why do a 5 star tokyo flippy match when the crowd goes nuts for punches and kicks? Stone Cold after his first neck injury made a living on that. He didn't have to do anything else.

Jey is the most over guy in the company. Much more than Solo was. To think that in order to be over means you need to get chants during matches is ridiculous. Do we need a reminder of what Hulk Hogan was? A catchy song, a couple hand gestures, and a bunch of no-selling. And they strapped a belt on him for 4 years. They let Sheamus have multiple reigns. The Miz got to have one. They gave Alberto Del Rio multiple reigns. They let Jinder Mahal hold the belt for 6 months. Bobby Lashey, who everyone apparently hates, got a couple runs. So yeah, let's cut the crap about Jey possibly getting the belt. |

I have a feeling there will be a triple threat involving something like Punk/Seth/Roman. Basically 3 of the 5 guys who don't win EC

That seems to be the way they're headed, but I really don't feel excited about it. 1 on 1 between any 2 of the 3 I'd feel invested in, but a triple threat with no stakes? Kinda lukewarm at the moment.
