Guy probably tried removing a few years ago and realized he’d just have to find either ignorant buyers or buyers who still love their 4 screws.

Those prices are ghastly! $200 for a RAW 1970 Reggie?! Hopefully he's just one of those guys that does crazy book prices and then sells for 10-20%

that is EXACTLY what i thought when i looked at those.

i couldn't figure out if it was funny or sad.

everything was priced like they were 8 or 9's

If you are a raw vintage collector that cares about condition, just buy graded and crack at this point. SGC would be the best choice, since most you don't even need a tool.

Screw-down discount is worth it, but not at those prices.

This was about $190 (PSA2-3 price).
SGC gave it a 5 (~$500).

Don't overlook the screw-downs

I didn't see much discussion about the Philly show, other than the robbery's (plural).

I thought the show was great. Well attended, healthy market, plenty of money being spent on both sides of the table. I have a booth there with a big "buying" sign. I normally judge a show by how much good stuff walks up to me for sale. I was able to buy (and sell) and really good amount for a Philly show. At this time last year, the market was in the midst of a serious contraction and we were all wondering when it was going to stop. Not the case this year. Even this close to the holidays, people were spending money and prices are somewhat stable. The things that are decreasing in value are typically due to over saturation (low end Wemby and Stroud slabs), but the strong football rookie class is keeping buyers interested. There are so many 2024 rookies that are collectible at this point (and add in possibly Penix and Rattler for the rest of the year), that I don't see the interest falling off any time soon.

I also had a lot more good quality baseball come up to me than usually happens. This is absolutely the time of year to be buying baseball and I was able to pick up some good inventory to sell in the Spring.

an "almost" identical SGC 5 '55 williams just sold at heritage for $324

i'm not knocking your card, but that far off-center make up the bottom 20%
of the sales prices for that particular grade

Our host did something similar with their brick and mortar location. They already owned the back room storage area, they just repurposed it for pretty much 90% Pokémon and 10% other TCG.

No worries. I sold that 5 for $500 + $10sh on 11/5/2022. Fixed price sale.

Looks like prices may have softened a bit. 5s are in that $350-425 range with a few selling up to or above $500 if especially nice looking.

I agree Philly was decent. Saw a handful of new faces set up. I know they had more space available, but they started reaching out to people on the waitlist Thursday and Friday. Not really enough time to get quality dealers in.

Looking for Andre Dawson Serial numbered cards that are his jersey number - either #8 or #10. So looking for cards like 8/8 or 08/99 or 10/250.
