It is a fun idea, but inevitably, I think it's the kind of oddball item that might cause frustration with fans, if they have to pay $35 for a package that only includes one item of interest.
Still, it is mighty fun, and I hope fans and collectors will see it's made with love, and see it for what it is. |

But you could say the same about anything really. If they want to get it, they can. It’s not being forced on them. You could have it as an add on initially but do it as a stretch goal down the line. That way everyone gets it. Those who wanted it are happy. Those who don’t care didn’t have to pay for it and can sell it on eBay.

No doubt. At the same time I understand this campaign has a LOT of stuff in it, and given it's limited purchasing window, it could frustrate people who can't afford to get everything in one shot.
But I suppose that's where dealers come in. Hopefully everybody wins. |

Finally got on this forum. I am SO LOOKING FORWARD to this new Mars Attacks campaign! I have seen some of the sample cards, the set make-up, and stretch goals, and know from the success of "Occupation" that "Uprising" will be great as well. Hopefully we will get more press and help from others spreading the word to make this a phenomenal project!

Have a call today on a new item that would really blow this thing wide open. If it happens, i might need to rethink some of the hot packs, but nothing in stone just yet.

If it happens, i'll probably eliminate the Earl Norem Heritage Edition, and rethink the Dinosaur Attack Hot Pack, not include a sketch card, and lower the price. Not sure. Lots to consider.
This is the problem with stuffing the set with so much stuff: iif we have an opportunity to do something new, we have to re-arrange everything, like if you buy a new piece of furniture and have to rethink the entire layout of your house. |

I am today finalizing recruitment of sketch artists, getting final commitments. I have recruited a number of new artists-- either new to Mars Attacks or new to sketch cards entirely, including:
Axe Bone Ronnie Crowther George Deep James Dickson Patrick Finch God Machine Kat Laurange Rob Lowell Jay Marchand Ralph Niese Tim Odland Paolo Parente Jason Kieth Phillips Tim Shinn William Skaar Amber Stone Kelly Tindall Jade Napier Elvin Hernandez Ramsey Sibaja Helga Wojik It's always important to me that we get a new crop of talent each set to keep things fresh. I especially enjoy recruiting artists who've NEVER done sketch cards before! Doing themed sketches for "Mars & Dinos Attack History" and "Mars Motors" also helps prevent things from getting too stale. And artists have shown a lot of interest in doing something different. Of course there will be many returning favorites, including Jason Crosby, Darrin Pepe, Kris Penix, Nick Neocleous, Ted Dastick, Roy Cover, and many more. Creators Ed Repka, Jeremy McHugh, and Dan Brereton will also be returning, and i'm still working to get other desirable, known names. |

Stellar artists lists and I want to single out Helga Wojik because I got a sketch by her from the Kickstarter Red Sonja set that I remain thrilled with, instantly one of my favorite cards. I hope she goes heavy on the metallic inks.
Adam, is there a chance when all is said and done, you could post scans of all the sketches? It would be like a virtual coffee table book of original MA art...

Did you guys print the set of sketch card reproductions that was issued by IDW a few years ago? That was a wonderful surprise!

Have received commitments from the following sketch artists (and still waiting to hear from a handful more):
Mary Bellamy Dwayne Biddix Dana Black Scott Blair Axe Bone Dan Brereton Neil Camera Daniel Campos Jeff Chandler Jason Crosby Ronnie Crowther Ted Dastick Van Davis George Deep James Dickson Mark Dos Santos Jason Flowers Chris Foreman Audrey Funk Patrick Giles Chris Hamer Jason Heil Elvin Hernandez Frank Kadar Gary Kezele Marck Labas Kat Laurange Raymond Lowell Russ Maheras Jay Marchand Chris Mason Bill Maus Jeremy McHugh Joe McWilliams Chris Meeks Rich Molinelli Jade Napier Nick Neocleous Ralph Niese Tim Odland Rhiannon Owens Paolo Parente Kris Penix Darrin Pepe Tony Perna Jason Kieth Phillips Ed Repka Howard Russell Tim Shinn Ramsey Sibaja William Skaar Amber Stone Kelly Tindall Simon Trease George Webber Helga Wojik Jeff Zapata All sketches will be in full color. Only 2 artists are so far assigned more than 50 cards, and we're giving them lots of time to produce them, no two week deadlines here! A number of artists have signed up to also provide sketches for the "Mars & Dinosaurs Attack" crossover collector pack, and the "Mars Motors" series. Jason Crosby will ONLY be providing sketches for Mars Motors (but he's doing far more than anyone else). A handful of artists like Nar, Jason Goad, Joe Simko, Alex Horley, Val Hochberg, Roy Cover, Jeremy Treece, and Robert Jimenez are interested, but their schedules are filled for a little while, so can not commit just yet. I fully plan to circle back with them both before and after the campaign runs in February. A few big artists said no because they didn't feel confident in drawing Mars Attacks. I appreciate when an artist turns down projects they don't think they can produce great work for, even if I think they would. It's the sign of a real special artist. The blanks should be in-house Jan 7th, and mailed out to artists on the 15th. By the first or second week of the campaign I hope to be able to have some scans to show off. Merry Christmas all, SideKick is on X-Mas break this week, but we'll be back next with more updates. Should be nailing down/tweaking the pledge levels, stretch goals, and add-ons just after the new year.
Happy tidings to all, best wishes to you and your fams. Let's make 2020 all it can be. |

Sketch blanks and Sampler pack cards are printed, we just saw the first sheets off the press. Will cut and collate next week and start sending blanks to artists shortly, and wrapping sampler packs. Very excited!

But this story set is about them traveling through time with dinosaurs, so we could have them battling cave men. So far my ideas for the set are: 1) Medieval England / Knights of the Round Table 2) Ancient Rome / Battling Centurions 3) Ancient Egypt / Fighting the Pharoah 4) Wild West / Raptor vs. Horse Chase Through "Deadwood" style town 5) Victorian England / Jack the Ripper or Victorian Era Vampires 6) Pirates/ Martians riding Pteradactyls attacking a Pirate Ship 7) Atlantis / undersea dino's, Martians war with Ancient Atlanteans 8) 1700's Battleground / American or French Revolutions, Martians vs Muskets 9) DaVinci's Workshop May eliminate fantasy elements like Vampires and Atlantis, not sure. |
